Why are the Chinese doing this?
Propaganda. To show the world that China # 1.
That's the only reason to go to the moon. It's like climbing Mount Everest. Pointless, but impressive.
It's why Israel sent a craft to the moon a few years ago. To show the world that the Jewish state is among the world's leaders.
It's why India, and whoever else, is planning to go to the moon.
It's why NASA is planning to send women and men of color to the moon. So that women and black people can say, "One of ours walked on the moon! See what we did!"

Second time they’ve done it. I think they are going to declare the far side of the moon Chinese territory.
How is this evenly possible? How can they even see? Isn’t it always dark over there? Isn’t that what our head of NASA or some other bigwig expert claimed?
I would also ask “how are they doing this?“
Do they have an orbiting lunar satellite that relays data?

Landing on the far side is one thing but the remarkable thing is they landed near the south pole which seems to have a curse, everyone keeps losing their probes when the south pole is the target.
