JOHANNESBURG (AP) — The African National Congress party lost its parliamentary majority in a historic election result Saturday that puts South Africa on a new political path for the first time since the end of the apartheid system of white minority rule 30 years ago.
With more than 99% of votes counted, the once-dominant ANC had received just over 40% in Wednesday’s election, well short of the majority it had held since the famed all-race vote of 1994 that ended apartheid and brought it to power under Nelson Mandela. The final results are still to be formally declared by the independent electoral commission that ran the election, but the ANC cannot pass 50%.

Given the history of the ANC, my bet is they will team up with those who will enable them to plunder and cheat even more.

ANC did NOT free S. Africa from apartheid. DeKlerk did; and he did so knowing that whites would never win another election. It’s been unfortunate, but it was also inevitable, w/ whites outnumbered 6-to-1 at the time.
So they aren't as creative in counting and recounting as our Democrats.

Less here than meets the eye. The ANC has now split into two parties led by competing thugs. South Africa continues its decline.
ANC still got 40% of the vote, almost double of the next closest party ... folks in SA must still be happy with their failed country, rolling blackouts, spoiled food, rampant crime, and systemic official corruption and kleptocracy ...
They also have a big problem with illegals coming into the country. They are still light years ahead of any other country on the continent.
