Walgreens announced on Wednesday it is lowering prices on more than one thousand national and store brand items, the news coming as corporations are apparently trying to battle inflation in President Joe Biden’s America.
The pharmacy store chain is cutting prices, along with Walmart, Target, Aldi, and Amazon Fresh, according to Fox 5.
“Unfortunately, the price cuts on shelves at large retailers are unlikely to reduce inflation, which is now largely driven by price increases in the services side of the economy,” stated Breitbart News’s John Carney.
“Core goods prices, which exclude food and energy prices, fell in April both on a month-to-month basis and compared with a year earlier, according to the Department of Labor. Core services prices, on the other hand, have jumped 5.3 percent from a year ago,” he added.

So, if all these retailers are cutting prices, isn’t it good for consumers?
Well, joementia did tell them to or else behind the gym!
anything to protect pedo joe the diapered president
Up 30%, now down 2%
Joke
This is stupidity. Won’t work.
I’ll take anything, but they are delusional if they think that is going to do anything.
JOE did this, SEE he is NOT a dictator.
Local eatery just reprinted new menu ... Up 37%
So, instead of 100% mark-up they only do 75%...............
Chinese sites like Temu.com and the clothing catalogues (Roamans.com and others) are big competition to the big retailers.
Yep. Very good news for consumers.
Makes me wonder....if these stores are cutting prices on “x” amount of items [pennies on the dollar], will they raise prices on other items to make up for these “price cuts”?
If your product can’t move because of inflated prices it’s
the only solution...
Joe = inflation
Walgreens has the highest prices of any similar store iohe.
cutting some prices won’t help anyway because they’ve locked up about half their merchandise and they don’t have clerks on the floor available to unlock anything. so you can’t buy it anyway, as a practical matter.
they’ve also confined their shopping carts to inside the store which means you couldn’t buy very much anyways unless you can lug it to your car a block away on the other side of the parking lot. anything heavy can’t be purchased now by the infirm or elderly
a store destined to go bankrupt soon, sorry to have to report
PRICES ARE NOT INFLATION.!! Prices are a CONSEQUENCE of inflation, which is an increase of the money supply in excess of productivity gains. i.e. printing money to fund economically worthless government spending. Retailers cutting prices is an indicator that their sales are slumping. It does nothing to reverse Congress’ fiscal insanity.
“Walgreens has the highest prices of any similar store”
That’s true but I think Walgreens hopes you will buy stuff other than prescription drugs out of convenience rather than making another stop. That said we use it just for drugs and other healthcare items, maybe 1% is stuff other than that.
Our store has very little locked up.
Also the curbside pickup is as good or better than Walmart.
Wanna bet the items are on cut list are on the cpi basket used in price survey!
Local eatery just reprinted new menu ...
Why are they doing this?
It doesn’t make sense.
Unless the government is forcing them
I’ve seen chicken drumsticks on sale in a couple different stores for .99@lb
