An Egyptian soldier stationed on a watchtower had reacted to seeing an armoured vehicle carrying Israeli troops cross a boundary line near the border while the soldiers pursued and killed several Palestinians, two Egyptian security sources said.
The soldier opened fire and Israeli forces fired back, killing him, the sources said, sparking an exchange of gunfire between the two sides. Several Israeli soldiers were wounded and the force fell back, and one Egyptian was wounded, the sources said.
One thing that doesn’t make any sense is the idea that the IDF deliberately decided to light up the Egyptians for no reason. Particularly in a time when there is a concerted effort to turn public opinion against Israel. Sorry, not buying it.
Friendly fire happens all the time.
Now, we are starting to get facts.
The Egyptian fired because the IDF crossed the border.
Not for “no reason”. Not because “he wanted to be a martyr”. Not because he had “sudden jihad.”
For God’s sake, don’t just accept anything you read in the MSM at face value, even when it matches your preconceived ideas or prejudices.

If a mistake happens on my business, I just don’t go to “a mistake was made,” I look into WHY the mistake was made. Almost always it was someone acting rationally to a set of circumstances they were facing, and usually if they made the wrong decision it was not because not because they were stupid or irrational, it was because they didn’t have the proper information.
Reading this thread, the assumptions, presumptions, speculation just get wilder and wilder. I really don’t feel I am dealing with intelligent people when I am reading some of these comments.
Now that facts are coming out, we see that the Egyptian soldier was acting on a situation on front of him where IDF was crossing a boundary he was defending. The solder was acting on his training, responsibility and understanding of the situation
And for God’s sake, look at ANYTHING you read in the MSM critically. You have a brain. You have logic. You have reason. Use it.
Yeah, thanks. Where were you when I was getting ready to hit
send?
