Brilliant! /s
They need it more than we do.
Why worry? Our parasitic Military (non)Industrial Complex can even the playing field with only a million-kajillion dollars. We will have our resident MIC acolyte Chad C. Mulligan run it - into the ground for some fat stacks.
We’ve seen from this conflict that a lot of our defense budget is being wasted. We blow huge amounts on DEI programs, fancy gold plated weapons systems that ain’t all that when the shooting starts and doubtless other boondoggles.
Meanwhile we lack jamming, hypersonic missiles, surge capacity (shocking that Russia is easily outproducing the entire west in artillery shells, anti-tank missiles, etc etc, and we don’t have anywhere near enough frigates and destroyers in the navy.
We need to massively reallocate resources toward plugging these gaps and others like chip production, rare earths, electronics components, shipyards, etc. That will mean a lot of contractors need to be thrown out of their jobs and a lot of companies that produce weapons need to make the less sexy, less glamorous and no doubt lower margin meat and potatoes things that win actual wars against peer competitors.
That's a racist statement.
Our jamming technology was created by a diverse group of DEI scientists from Harvard and Columbia, each of whom got a coveted participation trophy just for showing up for work each day.
And most importantly, each scientist's work was equal to that of every other scientist working on the project...and no one's feelings got hurt.
Our military leadership is busy doubling down on transinclusivity.
Because a man in a dress wins wars!
But our Army’s dresses look better.
To summarize all this in four words. We’re in deep trouble!
Similar to the USA in the 20th century, The United Kingdom spent nearly 100 years after the Napoleonic Wars fighting small wars of empire, trade and banking against backward African and Asian peoples.
While on paper the UK planned and trained to fight rising powers like Russia, and then Germany, in reality, its society and government were hardly prepared for the reality and horrors of WWI.
It marked the beginning of the end for the empire and a transfer of global power to the USA.
To think that jammin’ was a thing of the past.
Thanks to our Military DEI efforts, we can get our DEI hires on this issue. Let’s look at their up coming schedule, there’s Paris Fashion Week followed by the Hip Hop awards. Thens there’s the dress code; formal, causal, Dress or pants suit and don’t forget to accessories, accessories...
I guess it never occurred to the GENIUSES* now trying to get to World War 3 started that, while GPS may be able to get them home after work, the Russians might object to its use in attacking their soldiers and thus prevent it from working on the battlefield.
...just never thought of that possibility, not one damn bit.
*meaning Neocons, of course
Sounds like we need to resurrect the “S” band and “C” band megawatt jammers we used to build and add some higher frequency children to that family.
They want more money. They won’t tell you their capabilities.
While the Russians are making use of GPS jamming in Ukraine, it’s hardly sophisticated and the title is very misleading.
Jamming GPS is not high tech. It’s simply putting out enough noise power to prevent a receiver from seeing the very low power GPS signal. If the US was fighting this battle, these jammers would quickly become targets themselves for HARM missiles or other anti-radiation weapons. But Ukraine is not equipped like the US to fight a combined arms battle. Both sides, Ukraine and Russia, are fighting century old trench warfare, with Russia simply having a larger force to throw into the melee, and having some jamming capability to reduce the effectiveness of some older western weapons.
Quantity does become a quality of its own at some point. The old 5 to 1 (or more) ratio of attacker to defender applies in this conflict for Russia. For Ukraine, taking the full 28 months of conflict into account, it’s easy to argue they have been fighting ‘smarter’ (otherwise they wouldn’t still be fighting). But without some ability to change the battlefield dynamic, like achieving air superiority or a huge influx of drones, Ukraine will have difficulty doing more than just holding Russia in place.
This has always been russias war to lose. And they seem to have done a good job at that, but also have enough resources to keep throwing into it. I stated two years ago, and say again today, short of genocide, they can’t ‘win’. Even if they defeat the Ukraine army and occupy the country, they will be constantly attacked by Ukraine freedom fighters for decades. People who have nothing else to lose will not surrender.

Probably made in China.
