Final four: Trump drops four names when asked about highly anticipated vice presidential pick

In a campaign stop in the Bronx, New York, former President Donald Trump named some of his possible vice presidential picks, a sign the list may be shortening.

In an interview with News 12 New York, Trump singled out Dr. Ben Carson, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) as top options on a list that has continued to grow.

“We have so many,” Trump said when asked about picks for vice president. “You could take people like Ben Carson, people like Marco Rubio, or J.D. Vance. I mean, there’s so many. Elise is doing a fantastic job, but I could go on for quite a long time. We have many people who would do a really fantastic job.”

When asked about the timeline, Trump said he would make a decision “sometime during the convention,” which is when presidential nominees typically announce their vice president. Trump has floated all of these names as picks for various reasons.

So he got the message on Scott.

I guess Vance is the best of his list.

And what’s with the Little Rubio crap?

Is that why Trump’s been talking about moving to Texas?

God help us if he goes with Marco.

Who says the VP needs to be Trump’s successor? There are other positions within the Administration to place some MAGA superstars to succeed Trump. And there are GOP governors who will be good candidates.

I would rather have Trump’s successor come from the field rather than being his VP. It gives Trump more flexibility as the kingmaker in 2028. I guarantee you that Kamala Harris will not be the Dem nominee in 2028 regardless of what happens in 2024.

Hell, I don’t think Rubio polls well with Cubans in Miami! Lol.

That’s a big NO.

Plus, he’s pretty-much got Florida wrapped up.

I agree it won’t be any of the four.

Please, God, don’t let it be Rubio.

And he’s “chill”: a calming force in the next Trump administration.

Maybe that’s a good angle to take to the voters: Trump will be the fire and Carson will be the ice!

Fire and ice!

I like Carson. I also like Elise Stefanik, but I think that’s far too much snark for one ticket.

I still think it will be Burgum. It’s a “safe” pick. But then again, so was Pence.

Trump may be forced to have NY residence.

God no. TExas. Last week Trump hinted at moving to Texas. I think that sets the stage for a Trump/DeSantis ticket.

True statement.

But I’d submit that all 60M weren’t voting for McCain in 2008!

Dr. Ben Carson is the only one of them who can be trusted and has no political baggage. He’s a real and true Christian American and would be an excellent choice for Trump’s VP. He would fill Trump’s shoes with ease as #48.

No one respects Carson more than I do. But he’d be 77 when the term ended. Can we really Not find someone who could be a practical heir and serve two terms?

Good point, put him in a MAJOR cabinet role for the next 4 years.

He would be a fine choice and, as a plus, would make Demonrat's heads explode.

They'd have to attack this brilliant, dignified man; a perfect role model for black youths, as an Uncle Tom.

And there is no consensus among Freepers as to what natural born citizenship means.

No surprise. There has been no consensus among lawmakers and our courts as to what natural born citizenship means. Never has been.

“The VP choice MUST be someone who attracts voters from the middle.”

I think Donalds might fill that bill.

Truth is there are quite a few good options. Also, quite a few options being discussed a lot who would be TERRIBLE! I pray PDJT makes smart choices.

DeSantis? Paxton is a far better choice because he has lived and overcome the nightmare and has the litigation experience in our highest courts to navigate the system.
