SAN DEIGO - A collegiate golf team, taking part in the NCAA Championship, was shocked at the way their luggage and clubs were handled onboard a Delta flight, and it was all caught on video.
The East Tennessee State University menโs golf team recorded the footage on May 21 at San Diego International Airport in California.

The video showed a crew member casually, and seemingly recklessly, tossing their golf clubs on the ground before another crew member picked them up and loaded them. You can hear passengers laughing in shock as the video continues.
Nice of @Delta to handle our clubs with such care," the team posted on social media along with the video.
"I think it's kind of, you know, shocking," Sander continued. "I guess my initial reaction was I hope none of the guys had any of their clubs broken."
"Those clubs are pretty important to those guys," Sander added. A quick Google search showed a set of golf clubs can cost more than $1,000.

Sander said he and the team were worried about their clubs being damaged.
The team practiced with their clubs on Wednesday and everything seemed fine. However, some team members said parts of their luggage were damaged.
Sander said Delta apologized for the way the team's luggage was handled and is working with the university to make it right. FOX Television Stations has also reached out to the airline for comment.
As for the team, they are getting ready for the tournament and are currently playing at La Costa Golf Course in Carlsbad, California.
At least they were not arrested.....
responsibility of the person packing the luggage to make sure it’s protected. have these people never flown before? luggage handlers aren’t interested what’s in it they just are supposed to move them quick as possible.
Crooked clubs probably could improve my game.
Don’t worry, those same guys will be pilots soon.
The video linked is a true story.

You should see how they handle skis.

It’s called a cargo hold for a reason.
When my mother gave me a crystal capped candy dish that she inherited from my grandmother, I wrapped that in several layers of bubble wrap, put it in a a box, and put it in my carry on padded by clothes.
It sits on my dining room buffet.
Never trust baggage handlers with precious things.
Golfers need a travel case, similar to ones for guitars, to protect their clubs.
There’s only one black guy on the team, so this complaint is only white privilege.

Visiting Phoenix one year, I decided to bring back 83 bottles of Bill Johnson’s BBQ sauce.
I called my buddy, snickering. He had told me about the sauce. I said “I’m picking some up while I’m here” -
My brother-in-law said Phoenix is too hot. How can that be?
Phoenix is too hot.
I cleaned out a few grocery stores. I’d go through the line and put all these bottles of BBQ on the conveyor belt. LOL
Yes, I ate at Planet Hollywood and The Hard Rock on Camelback. That was a little while ago.
Hit the Venture store (yeah it was awhile ago), bought a long bag, put in my jeans and other clothing around the carefully-packed bottles, asked Southwest Airlines to PLEASE not damage the bag - direct flight to (__my destination__).
Not a single bottle broken.
Union trained.
Maybe their competition flew United, where the clubs could have been used on the passengers.
wonder how Delta handles caskets????
