Never heard of the clock thing. Why a clock in particular?
I do not know why, but drawing a clock is part of a dementia test.
I have had many dozen seizures over the years. In one, I looked in mirror and half my face was gone. I also looked at a clock, and it was quickly spinning counter-clockwise. Not the same as dementia but it is amazing what the brain can do when not up to par.
Likewise (but I did read up on it).

They give you 3 words to remember. Then they ask you to draw a clock with hands on a particular time. After that they ask you to repeat those 3 words. It confuses your recollection of those words by drawing the clock. Thankfully I formed a picture in my mind of those 3 words.
A really salty speech pathologist can figure out all kinds of stuff about your brain by having you draw a clock, even before she sees the x-rays.
Even more if you curse at her and refuse to do it.
