About 1,000 people attended a May Day event Saturday night in an open field on Upper Bryant’s Landing Road, according to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
“According to witnesses, the event was peaceful until an argument took place, which led to at least one subject shooting multiple rounds into the large crowd,” a BCSO spokesperson said.
Eighteen people were shot, three of whom died from their injuries, according to the BCSO.
“We do believe that there may have been more shooters, and we are following up on those leads,” the BCSO spokesperson said.

At time of this update no suspects.
There was even violence at the hospital where the injured were being treated. More like Chicago PD but true of some CSI Miami and a few Law and Order.
NY Daily News May 12, 2024
Gunfire erupted around 10 p.m. near Stockton, local CBS affiliate WKRG reported. The town of about 550 people sits about 20 miles north of Mobile.
About 1,000 people had gathered for a party in the area, police told local Fox affiliate WALA. Most of the victims and attendees were “younger people,” Baldwin County investigator Andre Reid told the outlet. The victims have not been publicly identified.
One suspect has been identified but not arrested, Reid told WALA. Cops believe there was at least one additional shooter as well. Investigators said multiple people were shooting at each other during the incident, according to WALA.
Some of the wounded were taken to North Baldwin Infirmary, 7 miles south in the town of Bay Minette, WALA reported. Physical altercations erupted at the hospital while victims were treated.

Thanks. Like I said, I didn’t want to jump to conclusions, but of course suspicion confirmed. If this can happen in Stockton, Alabama it can happen anywhere there are large groups of black people. It’s really sad.

Caused by a shortage of bananas?
Well that’s alright by me.
RE: It’s really sad.
Yes, I’m certain every one of these events had innocent people who decided to attend with someone and got caught in the crossfire.

Someone stared at someone?
Keep a sharp eye out for youth! You never know when they'll go all Stockton on you.

I’m sure the FBI is closely monitoring them. Saw some glimmers of trouble when the kids didn’t want to go to bed despite it clearly being bedtime.
Tried reading them some of these.

Scary bunch!
These events are always peaceful... until the shooting starts.
Geez, I thought Stockton was an agricultural quiet town. I guess things have changed.
