KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russian forces began a renewed ground assault on Ukraine’s northeast, killing and injuring several and forcing more than 1,700 civilians to evacuate from the Kharkiv region, local officials said Saturday.
Artillery, mortar, and aerial bombardments hit more than 30 different towns and villages, leaving at least three people dead and five others injured, said Kharkiv governor, Oleh Syniehubov.
Ukraine rushed reinforcements to the Kharkiv region on Friday to hold off a Russian attempt to breach local defenses, authorities said.

The MSM is full of talk this morning from sources, none of which are Russia MOD, all of which are anti Russian, saying that Russia is going to establish a buffer zone in Ukraine to prevent risks to a small city in southern Russia.
It sounds all very reasonable and credible. It has basis in nothing.
There has been no statement from Russia’s defense establishment or Putin as to the goal. They could intend to take that city and move westward to Sumy and Kiev. They could stop attacking tomorrow. Ukraine’s alleged reinforcements may or may not have anything to do with it.
Believe nothing. There are geolocated videos all over youtube. Believe few of those, too.

The Ukraine war has pretty much destroyed the myth about the mighty Russian Army.
The trouble is that Russia has dropped 20 or more FAB-500 and FAB-250 bombs on the town of Belgorod just across the border, due to its Air Force’s maintenance issues or lack there of between March and May.
Just two more weeks and more millions and Ukraine is going to turn this around.

With 400,000 men in reserve, and 300,000 completing training in late June or July graduation, Russia is poised to deliver an amount of troops fresh into Ukraine that currently exceeds Kiev’s troop strength; that Russia currently has about 475,000 men engaged tying down the 640,000 remaining Ukrainian troops, this is going be a Summer for NATO Thugs to remember.
The Kharkov region is a major stronghold of the Nazi’s in Ukraine so I except intense fighting, however, it’s time to send the Ukrainian women - you know the one’s that are equal to men in everyway to the front, to do the heavy lifting - they have watched the men carry thier share of the load for too long. Yes, it took only 190,000 in the Special Operation to hold the lines in 2022, until 300,000 could be trained in early 2023. By Janaury 2024, Russia had still only engaged approximately 340,000 men against the standing Ukrainian army of NATO training and equipment numbering 800,000 active and 400 NG/Reserves. Ukraine has trained over 900,000 men for the meat griner and they currently have an active force of 645,000 men with nothing in non-front sector reserves.
The real myth was the one of Electronic Warfare and the fact that Russians for some reason seem to have superior tactics and equpment - the USA has used everything from Starlink, NAS Satellites, the CIA, and nearly 60 allied countries to supply weapons and equipment against Russia.
Remember Russia began this war with only 380k men in their military worldwide. Today they hav 1.2m and 300k are joining the ranks after 6-months training in July, rinse and repeat 350,000 in January 2025, 300,000 in June/July 2025 and 300,000k in January 2026 brining them to a projected 2.1+M for duty in this war; not withstanding the 30,000 headed to Syria and 20,000 headed to Africa this summer.
