A Florida congressman apologized Monday for invoking an insensitive stereotype in a joke aimed at Republican South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.
“Why am I getting the feeling that she wanted to eat dog with Kim Jong Un?” Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz wrote on X in response to a clip of Noem promoting her upcoming book on “CBS Mornings.”
Noem’s book includes a false claim about a meeting with the North Korean leader and a true anecdote about her killing her “untrainable” 14-month-old hunting dog. Moskowitz was called out by Politico reporter Nicholas Wu, who noted the Florida Democrat was “using a stereotype here about Asians and dogs.”

Are stereotypes condemnable because they’re true?
That is funny. Even dog meat is rare in North Korea, so it’s a luxury meat.
How many people in North Korea can afford a luxury?
She lied about staring down “the little dictator” she’s never met before and she said Rocketman underestimated her in her imaginary meeting.
She’s a piece of work.
Where are the Republicans enmasse coming out demanding this dimwit Dem to step down and resign? Seems like when the media attacks Republicans, the Republican members distance themselves and watch as the attacked person withers on the vine. Who actually came to Sarah Palin’s defense back in 2008? Nothing but freaking crickets!!!
If humiliating family episodes and laugh-out-loud lies are what win you high federal office, Governor Noem is a) probably in the wrong party; and b) hardly even trying.
“She’s a piece of work.”
Heard her on the Hannity radio show today. Not impressed. Preachy, self absorbed.
Jared forgot to review Br0nc0’s dog essen.
RIGHT... because it was Obama Rama Lama Ding Dong that ate DOG!
EFFF EWE!
Send this little marxist to gaza.
Which one isn’t?
I agree. We take our own out of consideration for these gaffes while Democrats point to such episodes among themselves as resume enhancers.
Based on what is she a Marxist?
That stereotype is true. And it’s funny.
Many of the attacks came from the Republican political establishment, in particular people close to McCain and Romney.
I’d say no one but Kim Jong the Hutt.
