Meanwhile, across the pond - ironically - pigs fly as French leaders seem to finally awaken from their self-imposed idiocy while here in the U.S. our leaders wring their hands for political expediency and expose foreign influence.
This report astonished me.

While U.S. Debates Free Speech, Pro-Hamas Rhetoric in France Is a Crime
“Pro-Hamas Rhetoric in France is a Crime.” The French will have to lock-up every last muslim.
I’ll take Free Speech every time. It’s good to know who the a-holes are.
We don’t debate free speech. We recognize it as the most important thing in the world. Without it a country is a dictatorship. What’s astonishing is that you think this is a good idea. The cure to bad speech is good speech, not less speech. If the government can outlaw that then it can outlaw YOU. Never support it. I WANT people to support Hamas, because it means I’m free to say what I want. And it lets the idiots out themselves.
Well that’s good! Vive les French!
Next step is to kick them all out.
It should be as well. Specifically, HAMAS is a US-recognized terrorist organization. Giving aid and comfort to them, money or otherwise, is a crime. Protesters supporting them, flying their flag, wearing their headbands, shouting ‘Death to America’ while doing so, committing acts of violence, riot, and more, should be arrested and treated as enemy combatants, prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
“Destroying property is not a peaceful protest. It's against the law.
Vandalism, trespassing, breaking windows, shutting down campuses, forcing the cancellation of classes and graduations - none of this is a peaceful protest.
Threatening people, intimidating people, instilling fear in people is not peaceful protest. It's against the law.
Dissent is essential to democracy. But dissent must never lead to disorder or to denying the rights of others...
There's the right to protest but not the right to cause chaos.
People have the right to get an education, the right to get a degree, the right to walk across the campus safely without fear of being attacked.
But let's be clear about this as well. There should be no place on any campus, no place in America for antisemitism or threats of violence against Jewish students. There is no place for hate speech or violence of any kind, whether it's antisemitism, Islamophobia, or discrimination against Arab Americans or Palestinian Americans.
It's simply wrong. There is no place for racism in America. It's all wrong. It's un-American.”
I bet some FReepers would love for “antisemitism” to be a crime.
Kill them not for what they say but because they are terrorists.
France - where you are guilty until proven innocent.
Easy enough to draw the line. If it results in violence, the violence is illegal. If the speaker inciting the violence committed an overt act to help the violence happen, such as passing out firebombs or providing building plans, they’re an accomplice. Otherwise, as soon as you have probable cause to predicate surveillance and you get a wiretap court ordered, and wait for an overt act that constitutes criminal conspiracy.
If it involves non-citizens, deport them and bar them for life.
