I just spent 3 hours doing 20 minutes of Math homework with my daughter, very stressful on me not to slap her after the 10th time I told her the same thing. And this is only 4th grade math.

No I don’t blame the school, teacher or program. I am actually mostly content with the instruction. But even my wife that said I too hard on the daughter could recite what I was telling the daughter for the 20+ time.

So far the only issue I have with her math is them saying use a picture to figure your answer. I haven’t come to enlightenment with that as I only have a BS in Math.

I gave homework, tried to start it in the classroom. I believe you need to visit any idea at least five times if you wan to be able to recall it in the future.
As evidence of this, I can still recall high school lessons today, (I am on the downhill side of 70. ) This is because I did homework myself and taught these lessons for 9 years, and I read each student’s homework papers. This is called learning and do not care if students think it is too much work. I have a problem with parents who think their kids have too much schoolwork each night. I realize that some teachers do assign more homework than the class needs. But I do not think one size fits every class or every student. It certainly should not be encoded in a state law.
