They had EVERY right to seek independence after an illegal coup throw Yanukovych out of office and/or join the Russian Federation.

They had the right to seek political redress within the context of the Ukrainian constitution, not independence. A political solution could have been found if not for Russia's 2014 invasion.

The ethnic Russian population was under no obligation to be persecuted and killed by Ukrainian nationalists that came to power illegally.

Since the alleged oppression and genocide of ethnic Russians did not happen, your point is moot.

And, when Ukrainians upset about the illegal coup tried a petition drive to address that, they were rounded AND burned to death in a union building in Odessa.

This is what your Ukrainian nationalists/neo-Nazis friends resorted to:

More than 40 people were killed in Odessa on Friday, most caught in a building set on fire after pro-Russian activists and supporters of Ukrainian unity fought running battles across the southern port city.

What a hypocrite you are. You wanted those in Donetsk, Lugansk and Crimea to follow the constitution but are fine and dandy with those the violated by fomenting a coup and driving Yanukovych out of office.

Those that are being persecuted by a government formed illegally ARE NO OBLIGATION to obey it or be a part of it.

You're proving just how unreasonable and ruthless those that fomented and supported the 2014 Maiden revolution were and are.
