Interesting statement from an assumed liberal President of UT-Austin. One of if not the most liberal cities in Texas that I’ve visited or lived. I don’t miss the traffic and I live in the burbs of atlanta now.

I agree. For me I’m quite fine with someone in the middle that will actually listen to the arguments in both sides.
As for the protests, it’s outlined in the school rules and he is ensuring those rules are followed so those choosing to get an education can do just that.
