Speaker Johnson made it essentially impossible to vote for any of the bills before the House today without assisting in the effort to send $60 billion to Ukraine and up to $9 billion to Hamas.
He also made it impossible to condition any of those things on U.S. border security.

sorry. can’t get worked up over what was a forgone conclusion months ago: the first sign was the super pious Johnson saying his ‘governing philosophy’ was the Bible.
i’m a Christian and i follow these guys pretty closely and i never heard of him. that’s preposterous given that Jesus said if you follow Me, they must hate you and revile you because they first hated Me. when you do things according the the Scripture, according to the Will of God, you’re going to get known, and you’re going to get hated by the enemy, quickly.
then the bluring j6 video and passing the CR, especially when the so called ‘conservative wing’ of the gop didn’t immediately vacate the chair right after those obvious back stabs. someone here also noted absolutely no objections from either wing of the uniparty, crickets. and in terms of Trump, just another rubber stamp for the new national gope boss. no help coming from him, imho. the gop and America are being judged by God, imho. God protects his remnant, but when He curses a nation, it becomes very apparent. ‘he who has ears, let him hear.’ conversely, when God is behind you as a group, He raises up great and godly leaders. leaders like Geo. Washington, Abe Lincoln, or going back further, William Bradford.
at the national level, unfortunately, the *only* option for gop voters is to boycott all gop incumbents. elect only new faces not associated with the gop establishment. then reelect those instead of letting the gop bosses gaslight you and them. at the state level, you can continue to elect republicans and/or independents/third parties.
at this point there are no good options at the national level. the only thing to do is thrash and destablize your own party. that same advice goes for dems, but since they like what their politicians are doing, not much chance of that happening there.

About a week ago I was listening to a Charlie Kirk podcast and stated what he thought may have happened to Turncoat Johnson (and countless others) if you don’t authorize all this spending and changing his mind. A loose translation is that you are taken into a SCIF and a few people from top intel agencies (like CIA, FBI, NSA, etc.) basically scare the hell out of you with stated examples of another 911, American kidnappings, assorted other terrorist attacks ‘that these agencies need’ until you change your mind.
I can’t recall which podcaster which said it as I go through about 20 a week but he said that Turncoat Johnson was talking on the house floor to some colleagues (and king of beaming) that he had an ‘intelligence briefing’ that only Speakers get and it was this that did it.

Do you mean you have a problem with removing control of a major media sensation like Tik Tok, watched/used by millions of our young people, from Chinese control?? If it is a profitable business, someone else will buy it.
Saw an interesting discussion yesterday on Mike Johnson’s changing views. Once he became Chairman, he was included at the daily intelligence reports, which as a nobody Congressman he was NOT previously. Over time the amount and complexity of the information he received daily has apparently caused him to see the issues differently than he did before. For example, many people are not aware of the direct line from Russia to Iran and Hamas/Yemen, and thus the concern for Russia’s actions in Ukraine and the threat to NATO and ourselves. This no doubt became apparent to him given the detailed intelligence information.
Some of us still remember the trauma of such distant events as the Korean War which caused my late husband’s severe PTSD. He was haunted by hand to hand killing a hapless adolescent Chinese boy, one of the 300,000 sent by China to help the North Koreans take over the entire peninsula. North Korea remains a dangerous enemy and China is still their friend.

It was NOT just A BRIEFING. It was daily briefings, over months, which would make it possible to see the daily unfolding of the complex Russia/Iran/Hamas/Yemen plan to destroy the West, us included. High level Hamas leaders meeting with Russia and Iran 2 weeks prior to the horrible attack on Israel last year, Iran rockets to the Yemen Houthis to attack world shipping from the Suez Canal. This is one cause of our own economic inflation, which incidentally is not nearly as bad as it is in many other countries including those in Europe. See my comment #58.
