I have 2 kitties that NEVER go outside AND they are both declawed one was a feral adoption and after 3 visits to the emergency room in the very early days of her adoption the claws HAD TO GO!!! That cat had claws AND teeth that were SHARP!!
Declawing a cat is not, as many seem to believe, like clipping your fingernails. It's more like amputating your fingers. Kudos for taking a stand against torturing animals.

People don’t have any problem castrating (neutering) a cat, which changes its whole personality, but declawing, which just changes its ability to defend itself, they consider to be evil. Let a cat, be a cat.
As a lifelong cat lover I stopped declawing our cats 8 years ago after extensive reading on the subject.
Once I learned the short and long term negative effects of declawing, I chose to allow my cats to keep their claws. It is not the easier choice at times but it was the right choice for me.
When declawing is outlawed, only outlaws will declaw.
