Congressional Spending Goes Full Weimar

Congressional Spending Goes Full Weimar

It has become a speculative game in the blogosphere to predict what black swan calamities could lead to a breakdown in civil order and the imposition of some form of martial law.  Wars and rumors of war abound.  We have already seen a container ship mysteriously knocking down a bridge and closing a key port.  Other such scenarios include massive cyber-attacks that shut down the grid and block communication and transportation networks nationwide.  The speculation on the variations of such events is virtually endless.

However, one crisis is no black swan and is entirely expected, already happening, and growing in scale by the day.  That would be the ballooning debt crisis.  If Washington does not change its free-spending ways, the debt will become a catastrophe of devastating proportions that will tear the nation apart.  So long as Congress continues its multi-trillion-dollar deficit spending, we will have a financial death spiral, similar to events a century ago in the Weimar Republic of Germany.

The total discretionary spending for the U.S. government in Fiscal Year 2024 is approximately $1.70 trillion.  This amount is split between $886 billion for defense and $688 billion for non-defense programs.  In the fiscal year, the U.S. government is also projected to spend approximately $4.19 trillion on mandatory programs.  These programs include interest on the debt, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, VA, and other programs.  We have an annual structural deficit in excess of $2 trillion that will soon grow exponentially.

Congress needs to get serious about reducing spending.  For starters, they should outright eliminate the Departments of Commerce, Education, and Energy.  All other departments will need cuts as well.  But that is not happening, and instead, they waste money on frivolous services benefiting illegal immigrants and abortion facilities.  Notable allocations...

I bet the number of spending bills read and understood by these congresslosers is “ZERO”! What a group of pathetic, self-centered fools.

Most in the congress are old and won’t be around when the economy collapses in the next 10 to 15 years. They will be dead and don’t care.

Those still alive are going to regret things they did and won’t be alive for long after the coming crash. Mobs don’t pay attention to the letter after the name when they can’t afford to eat or pay their bills.

“Congress needs to get serious about reducing spending.”

***********

But then how would they buy off the voters? They all want to remain in power so the spending is not going to stop.

The U.S. has already been downgraded by two of the ratings agencies and another one has it on credit watch. Can a third downgrade be far away? Whatever, the congress and president could care less.

Congress needs to get serious about reducing spending.

Why, they profit from spending and have no accountability for the devastating outcomes.

Thank you for referencing that article Heartlander.

"That would be the ballooning debt crisis."

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

Probably most of the huge national debt is based on unconstitutional federal taxing and spending as a consequence of Congress's abuse of its powers under the repealable 16th Amendment (direct taxes) imo.

The immediate remedy for corrupt Congress imo is for Democratic and Republican Trump supporters to effectively "impeach and remove" ALL of Congress, except for MTG, Gaetz & Company (and others?), by booting incumbents from office in November (YOU'RE FIRED!), replacing them with new patriot lawmakers so that hopeful Trump 47 won't be a lame duck president from the first day of his second term in office.

The repealable 17th Amendment (popular voting for federal senators) needs to disappear too.

Revenues received by the federal government in 2023 totaled $4.4 trillion, of which half were receipts from individual income taxes.

It’s such an absurd number that its beyond the comprehension of most of us. No one wants to acknowledge or talk about it.

Of course, because we all know that if we ignore it then it will just disappear.

Funny. Because of the worthless educational system that grants university degrees and even doctorates to clownish vain people who have never heard of exp(x), and who cannot fathom or weigh a million vs. a billion vs. a trillion, and who exist in a state of hard ignorance, and think things like hyperinflation and economic ruin are just imaginary boogeymen dreamed up by mean white guys...

It's as if our Democrat-ruled society refused to learn about chemistry, biology, and nuclear physics, and was surpassed and wiped out by more advanced nations that did.

In fact that's exactly what's happening. Except the cataclysm will be economic ruin and a return to the Dark Ages. Don't worry, the slavery, death camps, plagues, torture, and gruesome warfare will all be a part of it.

Google "list of national-debt-to-GDP ratios for all nations". Ours is TWICE OR MORE what other normal nations' is. Lots of poor nations are in much better financial shape. Not a lot are in worse shape.

It's a colossal emergency, and our self-praising foolish elite are utterly clueless about it.

They're currently passing in the House an aid package to Ukraine! Money we don't have and haven't had for a century.

Then on to The World's Greatest Deliberative Body for approval. Then on to an incompetent, incontinent-of-stool senile dement for ceremonial signature. Praise by pinheads in the Press to immediately follow.

It's an Fn disaster.

A cataclysmic economic event is looming over us yet we are sleepwalking through this impending disaster as though it can’t happen.

Would such an event wake up the sheeple? I doubt it.
