In joint statement, the Permanent Representatives of 48 countries at the UN condemn Iran’s drone and missile attack on Israel: It could have caused significant damage and loss of life.) The Permanent Representatives of 48 countries at the United Nations on Wednesday issued a joint statement condemning Iran’s drone and missile attack on Israel. “We unequivocally condemn the April 13 attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran and its militant partners on the State of Israel, which involved launching several hundred ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and attack drones against multiple targets, and note this large-scale attack could have caused significant damage and loss of life,” the statement said. “We further condemn the fact that the weapons launched at Israel violated the airspace of several regional states, putting at risk the lives of innocent people in those countries, and appeared to traverse airspace near holy sites in Jerusalem,” it added. “We welcome the efforts to avert a further immediate escalation of violence in the region, following the successful coordinated efforts to defend against Iran’s attack.” “We condemn Iran’s unlawful seizure of a Portuguese flagged commercial ship near the Strait of Hormuz on April 13 and call on Iran to release the ship and its international crew immediately.” “We note that Iran’s escalatory attack is the latest in a pattern of dangerous and destabilizing actions by Iran and its militant partners that pose a grave threat to international peace and security,” the envoys said. They called “on all regional parties to take steps to avert further escalation of the situation and demand that all Council resolutions be fully implemented. We will strengthen our diplomatic cooperation to work toward resolving all tensions in the region.”

Netanyahu hit first by targeting the Iranian embassy. That was a step too far. Note that the Iranian attack killed no Israelis but the attack on the embassy killed Iranians

How many freaking times is the lie going to be repeated that it was Iran’s embassy in Damascus that was hit. And I suspect the underlying reason is apologetics for the mullah regime’s actions

the Iranian consulate annex building adjacent to the Iranian embassy in Damascus, Syria, was struck by an Israeli airstrike, killing 16 people, including Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a senior Quds Force commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and seven other IRGC officers.

Iran reported the building was part of the embassy compound, while Israel maintained it was a building used by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and located outside the fenced compound of the embassy

Even if you take the Israeli view, it's still close enough and an escalation

And don't forget that the Iranians slaughtered people at the Israeli Embassy in Argentina some years back. 29 people were killed in that attack. Four diplomats were among the dead.

Firstly - that was in 1992

Secondly - that was done by Hezbollah, a terrorist group. Yes, most likely it was ordered by the Ayatollahs, but they used a proxy in their war.

The attack on the Iranian embassy was not using proxies, but a direct confrontation.

That was a mistake by Israel. Israel are fully capable of eliminating the people they wanted to eliminate without it being “visible”.

Note - I’m not saying the elimination was a mistake, just that the way they did that (especially when they, the Israelis) have better, less visible, means - that was a mistake.

One missile raid does not make a war. Iran has hinted strongly that they want the issue to end there, with the sides even. The missile attack was purely to save face

Israel should concentrate on the southern front and the Iranians would get bitter at their own government.

All Americans should approve. Iranians don’t recognize embassies. Just think 444 days starting in 1979.

There’s more to come. Israel is our canary.

Firstly - that was 45 years ago

Secondly - it was by “students” - yeah, we know who directed them, the Ayatollahs, but it was still proxies

Thirdly - that was the Ayatollah’s Iran — the USA and Israel are morally superior.

You didn't read the article.

Over three decades after deadly attacks in Buenos Aires targeted Israel’s embassy and a Jewish center, an Argentine court placed the blame Thursday on Iran and declared it a “terrorist state,” according to local media.

Not only is Iran guilty, but the Court declared the attacks a crime against humanity, What is the statute of limitations for crimes against humanity?

I for one aware of what they did in the country that harbored Nazis. Argentine court talking big? What did they do to retaliate? Argentina will fight to the last Israeli. We can give our blessing to any Israel action that benefits us. A further widening of the war? Russia ain’t that dumb. They shot their wad in Ukraine.

I read the article. The Argentine court said it placed the blame.

We all know the Ayatollahs were behind it, but they did it by proxies, not openly.

Israel hitting the embassy went beyond shadow boxing and that called for the Ayatollahs to put up a show of retaliation. Retaliation which didn’t hit a single Israeli life

“Retaliation which didn’t hit a single Israeli life”

Not for lack if trying.
