Victor Davis Hanson: Gaming The 2024 Campaign
American Greatness ^ | 15 Apr, 2024 | Victor Davis Hanson

Posted on 04/15/2024 4:04:09 AM PDT by MtnClimber

Will Biden’s feebleness still earn him sympathy? Or will it devolve to the point that the public concludes that Joe Biden would not be able to keep any job in America—except the U.S. Presidency?

We have seen enough of the Biden-Trump race so far to predict what lies ahead over the next seven months of the campaign. Currently, the polls are about dead even. Trump, however, for now enjoys small leads in the majority of the fickle swing/purple states that will likely decide the election.

So here is what we should expect:

Biden

Biden has three major vulnerabilities and three major assets. His fate will depend on how these criteria play out.

First, on the negative side of the ledger, Biden suffers continual mental and physical decline, which is accelerating exponentially. His work week is now more off than on. Aides pray that he can get through a teleprompter without complete incoherence. His speech is so slurred, his syntax so bizarre that he seems to speak a language that is mostly indecipherable.

They rightly fear that any young attractive woman or even preteen might earn a trademark Biden weird call-out, a hair- or accustomed ear-blow, or even an attempted presidential too-long hug or neck nibble.

Steps pose an existential threat, given that the president is one trip away from oblivion. Biden is not even the diminished Biden of 2020, when, in his basement, he at least manipulated the COVID-19 lockdown to mask his infirmities and abbreviated schedules.

The odds are 50/50 whether Biden will even make it over the next five months to the August Democratic Convention. And, assuming that he does, can he rein in efforts to push him off the ticket?

Second, the Biden family is corrupt. Hunter still faces spring- and summer-long felony exposure...

Ugh. I wish Professor Hanson would revert to the way he previously wrote. This style of writing does not suit him.

I’d like to see discussion about the timing for printing ballots for November and for the Democrat Convention.

I believe both Ohio and Alabama have laws that require the ballots be printed out in early August. But the Democrat Convention doesn’t choose the name to appear on the ballot until Aug 19. Very inconvenient.

And what happens if Joe has a complete collapse? If they do go ahead and print out the ballots, and shortly after than Joe is seen as incapable of serving, how can they get a new name on the ballot?

All kinds of plot twists seem possible.

Ping! Out to the Victor Davis Hanson list

Will Biden’s feebleness still earn him sympathy, or at least respectful silence? Or will it devolve to the point that the public, worn out by his lapses, concludes that Joe Biden would not be able to keep any job in America—except the Presidency of the United States?

Please have a moment to read - and think - about Prof Hanson's assertion that Biden voters think. That they think at all.

100% true. Keep in mind that the Dims have used this to their advantage for many years regarding the military vote. Every election season the DOD tells state AG's the deadline for ballots to be organized by each state and given to the DOD so that the military can send the ballots to overseas servicemen in time. And almost always the Dim and RINO states were late in organizing the ballots, knowing it'd make the military (read: conservative) votes late in getting in. Thus make the Republicans have to argue that the absentee ballots be counted even if they come in late. (Remember Gore in 2000 saying the military vote shouldn't be counted, and Jeb! was governor of Florida.)

VDH should have mentioned a huge problem for Biden ——— third party candidates.

If Trump uses him correctly, RFK Jr can batter Biden into oblivion and
could emerge front and center as the de facto candidate, anointed by Trump.

Doing this would be child’s play for Trump.

Especially since RFK has very few options at this point
and has shown his willingness to play hopscotch w/ Trump.

Trump has outlined his plans for federal taxation. “I will make the Trump tax cuts permanent.......
they expire in a year. And we will cut your taxes even more than that,” he said
in North Charleston, SC, on Feb. 14, 2024. Trump made the direction clear. Lower.

A huge Biden negative, his plans for massive tax increases

Here are the massive tax increases coming your way in a second Biden term
Fox News ^ | 4/15/19 | Grover Norquist
Posted on 4/15/2024, 1:14:42 AM by Libloather

Biden made his tax plan clear: to wallop Americans with a $5T tax increase; his written plan calls for:
<><>a small business tax hike,
<><>a corporate tax hike, a capital gains and dividends tax hike,
<><>income tax hikes,
<><>energy tax hikes
<><> and a second Death Tax on top of his first one.

Biden would increase the corporate income tax from today’s 21% to 28%. That’s a higher tax rate than communist China and France and the U.K., each at 25%.

Now add the average state corporate income tax at 4% and the average combined Biden rate would be 32%. That would be the second-highest corporate income tax in the developed world. Just below Colombia.

Households bear the burden of the corporate income tax in the form of higher prices and slower wage growth. Companies do not simply absorb the tax, it is passed on to all of us.

Biden also promises to increase the tax on Subchapter S corporations, partnerships and all “pass through” businesses, most of them small businesses, to 39.6%. These employers pay their taxes through the personal income tax rate, not the corporate rate.

Three’s a crowd on a presidential ballot.......Biden’s getting nervous.

Biden tries to avoid Hillary’s 2016 mistakes with assertive third-party strategy
Washington Examiner ^ | 4/10/2024 | Naomi Lim
Posted on 4/10/2024, 7:52:16 AM by simpson96

Eight years ago, Hillary Clinton, smarting from her surprise loss to then-reality star Donald Trump, started apportioning blame to 2016 Green Party nominee Jill Stein, contending she siphoned much-needed votes from her.

Now, with Stein poised to be on 2024 general election ballots, President Joe Biden appears to be heeding Clinton’s advice to take third-party and independent candidates seriously amid extremely close, margin-of-error polling between himself and Trump before this November.

The Green Party will be on the ballot in the key battleground states of Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina, and Wisconsin, with the potential of Georgia, though the party has only been able to mount write-in campaigns there in the past, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. The Green Party has not been on Nevada’s ballot since 2008, but it was on Pennsylvania’s ballot in 2012 and 2016 before organizing a write-in campaign in 2020.

But as the Green Party and Stein, who is tipped to become her party’s nominee after Cornel West decided last fall to continue his 2024 presidential run as an independent, keep up their campaign for broader ballot access, the Democratic National Committee has stood up a special team, led by top strategists Ramsey Reid, Mary Beth Cahill, and Lis Smith, to counteract their efforts.

“We find it both offensive and pathetic that the Democrats are choosing to use their vast resources, acquired in large part through their donors in the fossil fuel industry and the war machine, to impede democracy rather than support it,” Stein campaign manager Jason Call told the Washington Examiner. “If Democrats were truly committed to voters and progressive policies, they would be working to solve the real problems Americans face.”

“Voters deserve better, and we intend to give them that choice,” Call said. “Votes are not owned; they are earned.”

West Virginia will not accept voter registrations collected by Biden Administration
WBOY ^ | Apr 10, 2024 | Alexandra Weaver
Posted on 4/13/2024, 5:14:31 PM by T Ruth

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — West Virginia Secretary of State Mac Warner (R) said Wednesday that the state will not accept applications “illegally gathered by Federal agents.”

At issue is an Executive Order signed by President Joe Biden in March of 2021, but in a press release, Warner said it was just last week that the country’s chief election officials were told on a call with the White House that it’s implementing voter registration policies.

Mississippi’s Secretary of State Michael Watson wrote in an op-ed published Wednesday that he “had the chance to ask a White House official about the plans submitted by each agency to carry out the illegal executive order” but was told, “those plans are not public, and they never intended for them to be public.”

***

In his press release, Warner raised multiple sections of the United States Constitution that he believes the Executive Order violates, including the 10th Amendment, which reserved all powers not expressly given to the Federal Government in the Constitution to the states and Article 1 Section 4, which says the times, places, and manner of holding elections shall be left to the state legislatures.

“West Virginia will emphatically not give up our State’s duty to register voters in a nonpartisan manner to the Federal Government, nor will we accept voter registration forms collected by Federal agents. White House overtaking of State responsibilities is something we will fight all the way to the Supreme Court,” Warner said in the release.

VDH is repeating the oft-heard argument that it’s a losing proposition for PDJT to keep referencing the 2020 election theft and outrageously biased media.

However, both happen to be factual, in contrast to the continued onslaught of absurd false claims made against Trump.

Those are relevant election year talking points, and since very few in the media or GOP seem to have any interest in pointing these things out, why shouldn’t Trump?

FR THREAD——RFK Jr: “There’s No Court That’s Found President Trump
Tried to Steal the Election, Tried to Derail the Election or Tried to Start an Insurrection”

Saying “There’s No Court That’s Found President Trump Tried to Steal the Election,”
and so on, RFK is fouling the Democrat waters and screwing Biden’s plans, bigtime.

The self-serving Biden is depending on “victimization” to justify another election steal.

The bloody liberals best remember they die as fast as everyone else by his mistakes and foolishness the damage he does to the country will out live him and we will have to pay for it.
