The government of Canada has upgraded its travel advisories to Israel and the West Bank, instructing Canadians to avoid all travel amid escalating tensions(opens in a new tab) in the region.
Previously, the federal government had advised Canadians to "avoid non-essential travel" to Israel and certain areas of the West Bank.
"With a heightened risk of attacks on Israeli territory, the regional security situation remains highly volatile & could escalate without notice," Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly said in a post Friday on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Countries including India, France, Poland and Russia have warned their citizens against travel to the region, already on edge over the war in Gaza, now in its seventh month. Germany on Friday called on its citizens to leave Iran.

Hou would not believe the dozens of black bears I have here.They come out for two weeks in the fall to harbest the wild apples on hundreds of trees on my grown up pastures.
They never bother me, over the last 12 years, the only damage they have done was done by cubs who chewed on the rubber handle of my cement mixer, and another time chewed the lever on my wood splitter.They leave my cabin alone, and never try to get into my garbage or BBQ.
People say I should shoot them, and I say Why? The bear people are my friends.I stay clear of them and do not bother them at all. They belong here.And they are safe on my farm.
They let me know they have arrived by leaving a few piles of scat on my trails.I respect their guards for the time they are here, about 3 weeks in all.The eat all of the apples but leave a few for the deer.Some trees have about 6 inches of bear apple sauce under them.
I am not native, but bears have been connected to me since I was very young.
