A video first reported by The Associated Press showed commandos raiding a ship near the Strait of Hormuz by helicopter Saturday, an attack a Mideast defense official attributed to Iran amid wider tensions between Tehran and the West.
The vessel involved is likely the Portuguese-flagged MSC Aries, a container ship associated with London-based Zodiac Maritime. Zodiac Maritime is part of Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer’s Zodiac Group.

> Iran can absolutely close the Straight. <
They don’t even have completely close the Straight. A few more attacks, and ship insurance costs will go through the roof. And so the price of everything those ships carry will go through the roof.
Lots of pain delivered to the West at a relatively low cost to Iran.
The wild card is what Biden and his handlers will do. This being an election year, any crazy thing is possible.
“Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to mess things up.
NONE of this would matter if we DRILLED HERE!
One rifle with a scope with a round into the pilot? Whats wrong with these shipping companies? No arms aboard?
Putin cannot produce that much oil. And anyway…how would he get it to China. There are two pipelines from Russia to China and they are relatively small. China would be screwed.
“When you bomb a consulate with full diplomatic immunity..”
I’m pretty sure it’s against diplomatic protocols to use a consulate as a base for military action, especially when it’s harboring members of a designated terrorist organization.
Iran doesn’t follow the rules, so why should Israel?
L
“The moment that happens, Iran has won the war against Israel and the West.”
That depends on if they can keep it closed, which they can’t. Look up Operation Praying Mantis.
L
They probably took a page from the Wests playbook and declared sanctions which means they can just take any ship they want.
Are you being funny here?
You don’t think everybody has intel spooks (including wet ops) and military incorporated throughout their embassies? Are you joking?
What dastardly military planning were they up to in SYRIA?
If “They were a base for military operations” was a greenlight for bombing embassies, few would be safe.
> Whats wrong with these shipping companies? No arms aboard? <
I’ve read that most (all?) ports have strict rules about private ships carrying firearms. Such ships are denied entry to the port. It’s one reason why merchant ships do not carry weapons to defend against Somali pirates. They rely on silly things like water cannons instead.
A armed ship could hide their weapons, then lie to the port authorities about it. But I suppose the word would get out, sooner or later.
That has to change. Ridiculous.
A 50 cent bullet could save the whole ship.
“Are you being funny here?”
Not at all.
“You don’t think everybody has intel spooks (including wet ops) and military incorporated throughout their embassies?”
I’m sure they do. But you be sure and let me know when the US military is designated as a terrorist organization. The ICRG has been. I’m pretty sure using a consulate as a base to plan terror attacks on civilian targets negates any diplomatic protections it may have. I haven’t had time to look it up yet but I will.
My thinking is that since basing military assets in hospitals removes them from the list of protected places a consulate wouldn’t be any different.
Maybe I’m wrong, but I’ll try to find out later today.

Operation Prosperity Guardian has been a total and complete bust. We have not seen Operation Iranian Hypersonic Missile yet either.
“Operation Prosperity Guardian has been a total and complete bust.”
Any chance you’re related to Lord Haw Haw?
L
Care to get guess how many hundreds, if not thousands, of Iranian terrorist operatives have walked or been flown by Biden accross our border? War with Iran will come to America. What happens if the tune is Bomb, Bomb, Bomb… Bomb, Bomb, Racine?
International law? You mean like bombing embassies?
We can’t even stop the Houthis! The Houthis don’t have Fattah hypersonic missiles either.
IF frogs had wings, they wouldn’t bump their a$$es either. Too late now.
Are you telling me OPG has been successful?!? Any chance all that laughable Western disinfo you gobble up has fried your brain?
“Are you telling me OPG has been successful?”
I said no such thing, Lord Haw Haw. You’re mistaking political will for military capabilities. If our leaders wanted to there wouldn’t be a single Iranian proxy left standing.
The last time the Iranian navy played FAFO with the US navy they lost 2/3 of their ships in less than 3 hours. So what we can do should never be mistaken for what we are willing to do.
Only a simpleton would believe otherwise.
