What intelligence did Johnson see that caused him to change his mind and vote against the amendment? If it was that serious, maybe he should give us a hint of what it is. Unless it was a glimpse of what’ll happen to his family if he votes for the amendment….

There has to be a law to enforce the law/Constitution?

I don't trust a thing johnson says from this point forward. He has been had. He is compromised.

Pointless and 50 years too late.
It will never be allowed to pass the Senate.

I don’t know Speaker’s age..
Wisdom comes with age and the experiences of living in and thru troubles.. Time.. And learning what works and what doesn’t.
Johnson speaks as if this is easy.. A given.. It’s not!
Simplifying any of what is today.. Is not the thing to do.. Fighting with all he has, is what is needed right now.
We have millions who have invaded our land.. Biden has created so much wrong.. So much!!
No, non citizens cannot vote..
The dems will try.. They are the enemy of this nation!!
Trump stands with us.. Pray for him.

No way it passes in the Senate, most likely not in the House and Biden would definitely veto it. This is a big nothing burger,

AS long as the election process is solely within the tates as individual processes, this going to be hard to enforce. The fedeal government has nithing to do with elections other than counting the the electoral votes the sttes send to them to make sure they are the amounts the state says they are. And that’s about all they can contribute.

Although the Supremacy Clause states that the Constitution, federal laws, and treaties are the “supreme law of the land,” according to the Supreme Court, it is clear that the Constitution created a federal government of limited powers. The Supreme Court has noted that “every law enacted by Congress must be based on one or more of its powers enumerated in the Constitution.”

These limited powers are set forth as what are termed “enumerated powers” in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution. These enumerated powers include, among other things, the power to levy taxes, regulate commerce, establish a uniform law of naturalization, establish federal courts (subordinate to the Supreme Court), establish and maintain a military, and declare war.

There is no counting process of the state run elections other than varifying electorate declarations of the states’ counts for the POTUS and the VPOTUS.

Article II, Section 1, Clause 3:

The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for two Persons, of whom one at least shall not be an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves. And they shall make a List of all the Persons voted for, and of the Number of Votes for each; which List they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the Seat of the Government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate. The President of the Senate shall, in the Presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the Certificates, and the Votes shall then be counted. The Person having the greatest Number of Votes shall be the President, if such Number be a Majority of the whole Number of Electors appointed; and if there be more than one who have such Majority, and have an equal Number of Votes, then the House of Representatives shall immediately chuse by Ballot one of them for President; and if no Person have a Majority, then from the five highest on the List the said House shall in like Manner chuse the President. But in chusing the President, the Votes shall be taken by States, the Representation from each State having one Vote; A quorum for this Purpose shall consist of a Member or Members from two thirds of the States, and a Majority of all the States shall be necessary to a Choice. In every Case, after the Choice of the President, the Person having the greatest Number of Votes of the Electors shall be the Vice President. But if there should remain two or more who have equal Votes, the Senate shall chuse from them by Ballot the Vice President.

There’s no way to make it take effect in time for 2024, and Biden will veto. It’s just political theater.

Just a backdoor way of introducing a national identification card. First it’s for voting. Next, it’s for everything else.
