Russia says it inflicts 'massive' retaliatory strike on energy sites in Ukraine

The Russian defence ministry said on Thursday it hit fuel and energy complex facilities in Ukraine with a "massive" retaliatory strike using high-precision, long-range weapons from air and sea as well as drones overnight.

The strikes were in response to Ukrainian efforts to damage Russia's oil and gas industry and energy facilities, the ministry said.

According to Ukrainian officials, Russian missiles and drones destroyed a large electricity plant near Kyiv and hit power facilities in several regions on Thursday, ramping up pressure on the embattled energy system.

Ukrainian drone attacks have reduced Russian primary oil refining capacity by some 14% as of the end of March according to Reuters calculations.

Funny how that works - Ukraine lands a few pin-pricks in Russia using Neocon targeting info and now their trains don’t run and their big cities cannot be lived in.

What is the high end potential for the Ukes to reduce Russian primary oil refining capacity by? When would it hit a level that really affects them? 50%? 75%?
Are these Storm shadow missiles the Ukes are using, or switchblade drones? Or something else to hit deep inside Russia?
Important to note if Russia’s refining capacity in-house is reduced, they have to buy more refined from outside their borders and that raises world prices too.

Weird how there is never any real footage of the war in Ukraine and there hasn’t been much all along.

Maybe this had something to do with today's developments:

Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia nuclear reactor damaged following drone attack

The drone attack included three direct hits against the facility's main reactor containment

USA and other foreign actor have caused death & destruction by their interference. Ukraine & Russia have a longstanding struggle and they would have hammered out an agreement. At the most US should have waited until that treaty was underway and added some aid as a sweetened.
By throwing money at Ukraine the US ensured the death of most of a generation and decades of rebuilding. Persons who promoted and sustained this conflict have a fatal flaw of hubris and should never hold the power to make government decisions.

If true, that is significant. Ukraine loses in every escalation and cannot win a war of attrition. Taking down Ukraine’s electrical grid is a major blow to the war effort and the lives of its citizens.

“Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia nuclear reactor damaged following drone attack”

Incredible that the Neocons prefer that Ukraine become a nuclear wasteland than allowing Russian-speaking people to continue living there. Seems each time they start on a new ‘project’ their plan is even more horrific than past plans.

It's from Reuters, so I take it with a grain of salt.

When Russia takes out the water and sanitation in Kiev, Zelensky’s crew will get the memo. The real value of the information is that there is novAir Defense even for critical infrastructure or high priority air bases. Article did not mention the destruction of the fuel storage for the EU which Ukraine held 22% capacity. The EU has lost significant electrical and oil storage with the overnight destruction.

Ukraine allows foreign military use of technical weapons systems. Thus, those missilesbare fired English or French... or German personnel. The US provides the satellite darà. Ukraine is just NATOs foot in the door on the road to a 5 megaton detionation.

Washington hopes any NBC escalation does not involve the US... I too would take the same risk using NATO as a shield in Europe.

It’s okay, the European and US media companies are beacons of honesty.

Remember, work extra hard and pay more taxes.

I think the over/under on Russia responding with it’s strategic nuclear forces upon US soil is so unlikely as to reassure the people running Biden that they have a free hand to engage in provocative military action against Russia FROM Ukraine territory.

There is no point in making an agreement with someone who never lives up to agreements. It was not the USA that caused death it was Russia and Russia alone. Give it a break Ivan!

“So as usual you actually believe anything Russia says.”

Perhaps because their record of accuracy is FAR BETTER than any media outlet controlled by the Neocons, which means just about all Western Media.

“You just exposed yourself, Ivan. Nobody in this country would believe that.”

You’re MORE THAN WELCOME to drink the Kool-Aid that the Western Media has been feeding Americans regarding the Ukraine War, Russian ‘Collusion’, White Nationalism, and nearly EVERY OTHER ISSUE.

But some of us choose to look elsewhere to get the TRUTH.

It is OK to disagree on FR.
Without the foreign $ the war would not have gone on this long & there would have been thousands alive that are now dead. In the end Russia will still have the leverage when it comes to ending terms. That was obvious from the get go.

It is fine to hate reality and rail against the injustices you perceive but it is important not to ignore the consequences of encouraging a doomed military action.
