Filing deadlines, how do they work?
While Democrats have been doing just about every nefarious thing possible to keep Donald Trump off the ballot in some states, Presidentish Joe Biden's campaign is having trouble following the established law to get their man on the ballot in Ohio.
According to a report in Sunday's Washington Post, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose's office has informed "Ohio Democratic Party Chair Liz Walters that the Democratic National Committee’s nominating convention is scheduled too late for Biden to make the Ohio ballot."
The law requires nominees to be certified at least 90 days before the general election, and Biden won't become the official nominee until the Democrats hold their convention in Chicago — less than 90 days before the general election. Biden will miss the deadline by 12 days.
Maybe you think I'm making this up because it seems too strange to be real. I mean, Democrats eat, breathe, and sleep the nuts and bolts of elections — how did they forget a little thing like making sure they'd crossed the T's and dotted the I's to get Biden's name on the ballot in one of the biggest states in the country?
The Dems have 2 options, neither of which seems appealing.
1. Move their convention up two weeks. A logistical nightmare.
2. Have the Ohio Legislature pass an exemption. With GOP control, how likely is that? They’ll tell Biden to pound sand.

Nobody is moving the convention. Doing so is beyond a logistical nightmare; it's virtually impossible. It's just a big, steaming bowl of Not Gonna Happen.

Third option (probable): Biden sues in federal court and gets a “Lautenberg mulligan”.

Option 3: put in paperwork to have “(Democrat Candidate)” be listed on the ballot.
Let Ohio put him on the ballot right after he debates Trump.
Not to worry. We have been taught that laws will not apply to Dimocrats if it helps any Republican.
Any republican who tries to keep Biden off the ballot will be charged by Biden’s DOJ with INSURRECTION!

The dems announced their convention dates over a year ago. Who made that decision then, was everybody asleep at the switch, were there only woke DEI types in the loop so everyone was incompetent, and why is this just coming up now?

Why is it being brought up at all before the deadline?
There must be a reason the DNC picked such a late date for the convention.They never missed the Ohio deadline before. Could it be a bow to Big Mike, Greaseball or Her to limit any reason to campaign in person or debate?

The workaround is simple.
National parties don’t formally nominate candidates for President - state parties do, in each state. (That’s why in Minnesota, Democrats are the Democratic-Farmer-Labor nominee and Republicans are the Independent Republican nominee.)
The DNC simply has to enact a by-law permitting the Ohio Democratic Party to nominate Biden and Harris ahead of the National Convention, and then the Ohio Democratic Party will hold its own convention in July and do just that. It will be quite festive and get a lot of media - Dems may decide this whole thing was clever.
(If Republicans were smart, they would have sand-bagged this thing until the deadline ... then the Democrats would have had to litigate with uncertain prospects of success.)

They have already decided that Ohio is going Republican so they can afford to let it slide.
BECAUSE their ticket (yet to be announced) is going to be chosen (at least nominated) at their convention and IT IS NOT GOING TO BE BIDEN/HARRIS!
They CAN’T run those 2 LOSERS! They KNOW they can’t.
They can’t CHEAT like last time, everyone will be watching.

The Republicans should agree to legislation that allow him to be on the ballot ONLY if they get rid of mail in ballots.
