After being strung up on charges by President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ), a 71-year-old great-grandmother may be thrown in jail because she walked around the Capitol for a few minutes on Jan. 6, 2021.

Rebecca Lavrenz was convicted on four counts Thursday after just three days of jury deliberation for entering the Capitol on J6. Lavrenz entered the building through an open door around 2:43 p.m., according to the official statement of facts.

Lavrenz told The American Spectator‘s Jack Cashill that she “felt that if those doors [on the east side of the building] opened I was supposed to go through.”

Lavrenz is discovering that she is not part of the "our democracy"™ the Liz Cheneys, Bidens, Pelosis et al go on and on about.

May her tormenters get everything coming to them.

I got banned from this site for a week for pointing out that those people were breaking the law and many of them would do time in prison. It was not a bold prediction, given that they were breaking the law, and would in fact do time in prison.

DC courts are out of control. The snake is eating its tail. It only gets worse from here.

I was in the capitol twice in my life (that I can remember). Saw the rotunda both times and even sat in a balcony seat overlooking the house floor. I haven’t done any time yet.

Maybe they broke the law, and some of them were violent and deserved jail time, but the vast majority were simply walking through the Capitol, and promptly left when asked to do so by the Capitol Police. The most that they deserved was a fine.

If they were Democrats their “intent” might matter.

You mean like the ANTIFA and BLM people who tried to burn down government buildings with people in them? They never did any time! I am confused, do you mean to say that confused Grandmother, who clearly didn’t know she was breaking the law, cannot use the ‘confused and old’ excuse, but Joe Biden can? It’s JUST US, not Justice.

The better question is whether you agree or not with the Government’s prosecution of the Jan 6 protestors?

Personally, I think the current U.S. Government has a greater resemblance to North Korea than a Republic.

I wasn’t there that day.
1) However there should be no problem with Americans coming to a rally in DC.
2) Trump did use the words “go peacefully” at the rally
3) The people who did break windows and other such destructive acts should be punished .
4) it’s seems most of the protestors DID NOT engage in these destructive acts.
5) For those there who walked peacefully through open doors and committed no violence or destruction, hard to see what they did wrong or how they broke the law
6) Having said that, probably not wise to be around a large group of people where some are breaking the law,

I say we double down. Clearly, a week wasn't sufficient.

So how much time did Clinesmith do for changing in excess of 17 emails in order to make Trump look bad?

"You break the law, you go to jail."

That only works one way in DC. In fact, not only did Clinesmith not get any jail time, but he hasn't even been disbarred.

She walked into a public building through an open door, so what law did she break? And why is this so serious as to merit prison time?

She's yet another one of our political prisoners.

Compare her actions to the actions of George Floyd rioters in DC in late May of 2020 that tried to storm the gates of the White House, the vast majority of which were never charged.

Or compare her to Alyssa Milano, dressed up in Handmaid's outfit, banging on the doors of the chamber that the Senate hearings on Brett Kavanaugh's nomination were being held. Milano, of course, got no prison time.
