The problem the FR war pigs don’t, or won’t see is that it does not matter if we are stronger than Russia. What matters is that they, and Iran, and China believe our weak leadership will not respond to an attack with total war. They may even believe a crippling attack will fold our government.

If MAD no longer applies and our southern border admits terrorists and materials we are no longer in a position to antagonize enemies without fear of retribution. On the current path the question is when, not if we are attacked.

I would answer, we are not in confrontation, but if that is what you are looking for, it is your decision.

"The intention is to depopulate Ukraine, putting the people into slavery in Russia. That clears the land and waters for resource extraction, wheat, oil and gas."

If that was his actual motive, then he would have just carried on after invading Georgia during George W. Bush's last term, and annexing Crimea in the middle of Obama's second term. Why did he stop, when he'd already been shown that the west wasn't going to respond in kind? And in this case, if Putin really wanted to do what you claim he wants to do, it would have already happened. He's playing a cat an mouse game, having fun fighting another proxy war with the U.S., and watching her infrastructure crumble, her country taken over by illegals, and her government breaking the economy of the U.S.

Biden’s an effing Vegetable, obviously. He’s a figurehead.

Doesn’t change the fact that Putin is a Paranoid Psychopath.

"For Canada it is a little bit different. On the first day of actual war, Canada will follow the demand of Quebec and eject from NATO. (who knew that Quebec isolationism would save us?)"

From your mouth to God's ear.

"But, if NATO gets dismantled, we need to make sure that Russia is also dismantled."

ROFL!! This country will be dismantled far sooner than Russia ever will. But keep your eye on Russia, because that's the most important target, right?

The Japanese thought the same thing.

Exactly !

In WW2 a few saboteurs managed to slip into the USA, and were arrested.

Any war now, USA loses automatically because of the open border, and the people who are inside already.

Seeing tens of thousand Russians dead and being stopped cold in his advance into Ukraine is a strange way to have fun.

"The Japanese thought the same thing."

And Hitler thought bombing London in the Blitz, would bring that government to its knees.

And every country in Europe except for the UK and Poland awill do the same.

At the first sign of actual war, they will eject from NATO and declare themselves neutral.

Its hard to understand the mentality of people who think that totally corrupt Ukraine is worth the risk of an unthinkable global nuclear catastrophe. Talk about asymmetric.

I hope Trump can get in office before this whole thing lights off. He seems to be the only one who can stop the warmongering neocons.

Haven’t we had enough wars already?

Did they give Biden the Nobel Peace Prize yet?

He’s bound to get all this settled down soon. Trust him.

+1 Watch them all bolt from NATO when this thing goes hot and they suddenly realize that their national survival is on the line — all over a corrupt backwater country.

Good post. Our self-inflicted decline is not lost on Putin, or any of our adversaries for that matter. They perceive weakness and know a window of opportunity when they see it.

What is so maddening about this is that Russia was not otherwise a threat to American interests. Certainly not in the way China is.

But now, we are ramping up an existential war with Russia that easily could have been avoided because the NeoCons had a plan to aggravate Russia and create a massive increase in defense spending for the military industrial complex. They are now doubling down after two years of death, destruction and deficits.

The Chinese must be beside themselves at their good fortune that we are being run by lunatics, and no one is going to stop them.

Hitler invaded Russia in order to get control of Russia's oil fields.

It was lebensraum. The oil fields were secondary.
