The Navy today released a rare public accounting of major delays for key shipbuilding programs, with ships from nine programs running behind, in some cases up to three years.
In total, the Navy forecasts a cumulative delay of more than 11 years, at a time when lawmakers and Pentagon planners agree that the Navy needs to be modernizing and growing for a potential conflict in the Pacific.

The US empire is in its “grab whatever cash you can before TSHTF” stage
Add to this the number of ships that the US Navy is retiring this year and next, and you can see that the Manchurian President is weakening us in preparation for our conflict with China.
I interviewed with the ship builder at Bath Maine. The wages were laughable.
.
It looks that way.
Traitorjoe and TraitorSecDefComPoop (as well as Traitorbarry) made sure that traitorous officers in the Navy and the military-industrial complex did their part to weaken the United States and give aid and comfort to our enemies as well.
Laughable high or laughable low?
I wonder if there have been delays in the building of ships over the last 70 years or so, and if so, how long on average?
In the meantime, China had created an astounding automated manufacturing base.
They’ll can mass produce 1,000 cruise missiles per day supposedly.
Joey Biden never served in the military, he “served” in congress and the senate. That brain dead pos has no idea what “Peace through Strength” means.
Does the US Navy still do anything worthwhile, or is it just another part of the globalist police force?
Low. Low Low wages. I am a n engineer with three decades experience. I started out as a drafter for a marine architect. Designed propulsion systems. I then went in to aeronautical engineering. CFD experience. Previous certified welder. Ran manufacturing assembly lines. They were paying ridiculously low wages. Probably just keeping them low to employ Somali rapefugees with low wages. No one I know would relocate there for what they were offering with the CV they demanded.
This is what happens when there are only a few shipyards left that can build Navy ships.
Ship building wages are about twice auto workers’.
Should have awarded the Fast Frigate contract to the low bidder. It would be right on time.
The only nation even close to the manufacturing power the US once had. Transferred to China. Now many items require purchases from them, at cheap parts I buy.
bkmk
Just finished Ben Rich’s book “Skunk Works” written 30 years ago. Kelly Johnson’s unwritten 15th rule was to never do business with the Navy. Not just the Navy but all military now screws up every contract they write. None of them can be trusted with money.
