Residents of Virginia Beach, one of the few areas in Virginia to choose Joe Biden for president in 2020, are upset over the construction of wind turbines.
Complaints range from noise and vibrations caused by the 24/7 construction project to the destruction of ocean views and possible negative effects on marine life.
On Wednesday, Virginia Beach residents met with Dominion Energy, the company installing 178 wind turbines 900 feet high across 15 miles of ocean. The local news outlet News 3 reported that after the meeting, residents still “have concerns regarding the construction noise, environmental damage, and ocean views.”
The complaints came down to…
Construction noise, which is 24/7 Construction vibration that some residents say cracked the walls in their homes Being able to see the turbines, even though they are 27 miles from shore Killing wildlife Dominion promised to “put quieter reverse alarms on the trucks, put up sound buffers in the area, and even installed a second device to monitor sound and vibrations.”

Yes - the residents of Virginia Beach can sit and spin.
Within 10 years we will be tearing them down.
Maybe build them on the Mexican border, just inside the bollard walls or fences, with the blades reaching amost to the ground.
Embrace the suck Biden voters.
Green energy should be recyclable or biodegradable.
To the average person with a brain you’re right.
Of course to the watermelon envirowhacko’s, they never live their own principles
Gotta pay the piper. He made sure you were overrun with rats for an agreed-upon price. Now let him take your children and throw them into wind turbines.
Not true.

Winter Nor’easters and hurricanes are going to wreak havoc on those things.
You get what you vote for.
Probably thought it would only affect the poor people didn't you.
Dominion’s CEO Bob Blue is responsible for this madness.
Strafing runs from some of the USN hotshot pilots would fix that.
“Lieutenant! Where are the practice bombs?!”
What about the Air Craft coming in and out of NAS Oceana ?

“put quieter reverse alarms”
Cracks me up. DOT sets the
regulations concerning
safety systems on heavy
equipment. Backup alarms
are “mandated” to reach a
minimum decibel range. If
this company takes it upon
themselves to change their
volume, they’re breaking the
law. Huge lawsuit if someone
suffers property loss or
injury.
At 27 miles, a 6ft tall person has about 400 feet obscured. So if these really are 900 ft tall, over half of them are visible to someone standing on the beach. Not to mention up on a house or anywhere higher.
Of course, this neglects visibility, which with humidity, sea mist and such, likely means these would be nothing but a bit of blur.
