Johnson says Ukraine aid will come up ‘right after’ recess and will include some ‘innovations’

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said Sunday that he expects to move a package including aid for Ukraine with “some important innovations” when the House returns from recess.

In an interview on “Sunday Night in America With Trey Gowdy,” Johnson stressed the difficult position he’s in, with a historically narrow House majority, but said he was working throughout the current work period to come up with a package and plans to put it on the floor when the House gavels back into session.

I remember when FR was a site you could hang out on and make FRiends, have fun and learn something. Sure there were arguments but nothing like today.

If an American Conservative signed up for FR today and the only threads they had access to were the Ukraine-Russian War threads, they’d leave.

Zeepers, especially those who aren’t American Citizens or who have family living abroad have managed to turn these threads into hateful, anti-American, Stasi-like threads where zeepers keep lists of what disagreeing FReepers post and break into their private sites.

Conflict shows up everywhere in this day and age.

We're living in 1930's Nazi Germany. And like the countries Hitler invaded, there were always local collaborators in those countries who would do the Nazis dirty work for them, snitching on their neighbors, and helping to get them arrested, rounding them up, and even doling out the punishment themselves. Zeepers on FR are no better than those Nazi collaborators.

You are exactly right. I know what you’re talking about. I lived it first hand.

In 1985, my mom and I traveled to Romania for 4 weeks. (Note: Romanians are not Slavs.) She had been diagnosed with cancer and wanted to meet her mother’s and father’s relatives before she became to weak to travel.

It was the most horrible trip I’d ever taken in my life.

Romania was a hellhole. Ceausescu ruled the country with an iron fist. The people lived in poverty; they had no happiness, nothing to live for. They walked the streets wearing drab clothing, with their heads down and no one making eye contact. They were too afraid to talk because there were finks everywhere.

Government agents tried to entrap me at the airport in Bucharest and while site seeing in the downtown area. They approached me several times and asked me to exchange money with them.

If I would have, I’d have ended up in the slammer, because at the time it was illegal.

To call back home, I had to go to the post office. There were about 10 telephone booths in a row. The first booth was the only booth you could use to call America. Do you think Ceausescu’s goons were listening? Of course they were.

I couldn’t wait to return to what used to be “The Land of the Free.”

Trump 2024!

I’m so sorry about your mother. My mother was diagnosed with cancer in 1990, and passed that same year. Like you, I tried to take her to some places in this country that she’d never been to, before she couldn’t get around. But your trip was a whole different story. What was supposed to have been a trip to make family connections, turned into a trip overshadowed by the nightmare politics of the country you traveled to. I hope your mother was at least able to have some enjoyable moments meeting her parent’s relatives. And your description of Romania under Ceaucescu, is what the globalists, and their minions in this country have in plan for us.

“Which is it mommy?”

bimboeruption, I believe your assumption regarding such false ‘evidence’ results in clearly separating these conclusions from factual truth.

I do not want to believe your comments are intentionally malicious. I believe you think your memes are funny. :) However, such confusion your comment today only misconstrues my comments which develops unfactual false conclusions.

I hope my comment in response will bring clarity:

SIMPLE TRUTH:

1. POSTING IMAGES: I believe around November 2013, I did not know how to use sandbox. I still do not now in 2024! LOL

Originally, I phoned FR and spoke with a staff member that gave instructions on how to post images &/or graphics. From his explanation, I created what I call an ‘equation’ from his advice which I follow to this day by just switching the ‘copy image link’ within the ‘equation.’

2. I did not “break-in” to any image-hosting account.
I went to one of you meme and clicked your ‘copy image link’ which led me to your created image.

3. The wedding photos came from the wedding photographer. Sorry to once again disappoint your narrative. I did not know how to post images from my phone!
We bought a few & my husband placed them on Facebook.
The rest is history which you have documented: “Hubby photos transferred wedding day photos to Facebook per request so I could share their joy with my Freeper pals.”

4. My husband did leave for the airport. My daughter is sick. My son’s fiance/ now wife was at the door.
Simply, I have responsibilities. If I need to say good-bye to my husband, help my daughter, or even simply answer the door do know that I will.

“When the air gets hot, mommy has plenty of excuses to flee the kitchen.”

I mean you no harm. Typically, your comments directed toward me are not regarding the topic posted. I do apologize because I simply find it easier to “gray-rock”over and skim your comments.

IMPORTANT:
I also follow both directives issued regarding FR posting/commenting guidelines clearly prohibits my response to your comments:

1ST: FR Guideline: https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3928396/posts

1. Do not tale the Lord’s name in vain.

2. Use common courtesy when posting. Do not post insults or personal attacks against your fellow FReepers. Do not engage in flamewars or feuds. If you find yourself falling into one, disengage immediately and move on. You don’t need to have the last word.

3. Do not badger other posters. Do not demand an answer. If someone says stop, stop.

4. Do not enter onto a thread on a topic you don’t like just to disrupt, rattle cages, poke sticks, insult the regulars, or engage in trolling activities, etc.

5. Do not attempt to discover or expose a poster’s real life identity.

2ND: https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4166577/posts

NOTICE: Please knock-off the abusive posts, name-calling, TAUNTING, trolling, stalking, FLAME-BAITING, insults, RELIGIOUS INSULTS*, FLAMES*,[i.e.Flame-bait is a message or post intended to arouse controversy into any type of digital forum such as a social media platform, a comment thread or anywhere else that people interact online] threats, ill-wishes, harassing & annoying posts, unwanted posts & FReepmail, etc, etc, etc

*PLEASE NOTE:
FR Guidelines above CLEARLY state NO religious insulting or flame-baiting.

DETAILS:
This is not DU!

Discuss the issues all you wish, BUT DO NOT MAKE IT PERSONAL!

Remember to use common courtesy when posting to FR. Leave off the insults and flames, name calling, etc.

We are conservatives. Be respectful to your debate adversary (fellow FReeper). For example, do not accuse them of being a “Putinista”, “comrade”, “murderer”, “baby-killer”, etc, just because he may have a difference of opinion whether or not the US government should be involved in a controversial foreign war where we were not attacked.

Likewise, things in the presidential primary are getting over-heated. We want to be sure we come out of this with a Republican president, house and senate.

The only way we can accomplish that is to unify the Republican Party. We can’t destroy our own candidates. Whoever it is will need to pull us ALL together. Keep the ultimate goal in sight - Freedom!

We are not here to fight each other. We are here as allies to fight for God, family, country, and FREEDOM!

As William Wallace said in Brave Heart, “Unite the clans!”.

Your personal favorite may be Ron DeSantis, mine happens to be President Trump. But if DeSantis receives the nomination, I’ll support him, as I hope most other FReepers will.

Incidentally, we are getting way too much profanity. This is NOT DU, this is NOT CNN - (in deep voice) this IS FR!

Finally, if someone says STOP, then STOP! If someone asks you to take them off your ping list, then take them off! If someone asks you to stop posting to them, the adult and polite thing to do is to accommodate them.

Thank you all very much, and God bless you.

Jim Robinson

Interesting how RevMom's new catchword is "dissembling." She used it multiple times and accused me of it in her latest lame attempt at defending the self-admitted pedophile and zotted Zeeper BabaOReally. Sickening. That woman causes more strife, confusion and bullsh*t on this site than anyone else.

Malignant narcissists leave mayhem, ill will and confusion in their wakes wherever they go. And when caught in the acts of gaslighting, lying and dissembling, they ALWAYS attempt to play the victim.

Senate faces tough choice on Speaker Johnson’s Ukraine vision

https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/4568567-senate-faces-tough-choice-on-speaker-johnsons-ukraine-vision/

The Senate faces a tough choice on Ukraine aid as Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) says the House will move a Ukraine package after the April recess, but one that could be strikingly different from the $95 billion package the upper chamber passed in February.

The Speaker has already told Republican senators that a substantial portion of the assistance in the House bill would be provided in the form of a loan, an idea championed by former President Trump but initially dismissed by Senate leaders in both parties.

Johnson has signaled the House will take action on a Ukraine assistance bill in the next few weeks but hasn’t shared many details about what the package will look like.

He has floated the idea of attaching language to reverse President Biden’s moratorium on new permits for liquified natural gas export facilities or provisions to pay for some aid to Ukraine by seizing Russian assets. (excerpt)

Kudos to Speaker Johnson: Moving Ukraine aid is critical to national security

https://nypost.com/2024/04/02/opinion/kudos-to-speaker-johnson-moving-ukraine-aid-is-critical-to-national-security/

Speaker Mike Johnson’s Easter announcement that he’ll bring a new Ukraine aid package to a vote when the House returns next week, despite the political risk to his speakership, is welcome news.

Congressional backing for Ukraine assistance has been mired in the political muck for months.

More than 5,000 miles away on the front lines, the maddening impasse has needlessly cost Ukrainian lives and territory.

Three-quarters of Americans recognize that the Russian war against Ukraine and the conflicts that allies Israel and Taiwan face are important to US national interests.

It’s time Congress got on the same page as its constituents and found a way to move critical support over the finish line.

For Ukraine, the dearth of new aid has left soldiers to ration ammunition.

Russia’s artillery advantage has consequently increased by an order of magnitude.

Moscow has been firing five times the number of shells per day as Kyiv for most of the year.

Ukraine’s February decision to withdraw from Avdiivka was dictated by the lopsided daily firing rate.

Russian forces simply out-pummeled Ukraine’s defenders.

Some good news came two weeks ago: The Czech Republic has stepped into the breach in a major way, scouring the world to secure 800,000 artillery shells. (Excerpt)

I rarely, if ever, use the word "dissembling" myself. I used it in my prior comment simply to highlight how it's currently a favorite word you abuse in the service of evading unpleasant realities, to deflect from truth and to insult and cast doubts on those who disagree with the endless crap you deposit on this forum.

You're BS is so damned predictable. Boring.

You may have missed this EXCELLENT post by TonyinLA:

West believes controlling the “narrative” is the same as reality.

Russkies believe controlling reality is the same as controlling reality.

It’s that simple.

An amazing observation that cuts right to the quick, with none of the dissembling commonly served up by the Ukie cheerleader crowd.

"And when caught in the acts of gaslighting, lying and dissembling, they ALWAYS attempt to play the victim."

That's the standard M.O. for evil people. They like to play head-games, readily pointing the finger at someone else, in order to cover up their own destructive behavior. It's a mental illness, and we see it in operation every day in this country, and sadly on this site. It's rampant. These people are sick.

Slam that ABUSE BUTTON mommy!

If you don't like FReepers talking about your affiliation with the UMC, (Post 120), why do you make it such an important element of your FR persona?

You never let us forget that you're a REVEREND because it's your user name and we see it multiple times in every one of your threads and comments.

You post about your ministry activities, your faith, and you can't get enough of preaching at us.

You love talking about your religion UNTIL we bring up something you don't like.

"UMCREV" is part of your name. Change it if you don't welcome questions or discussion.

LOL!

Your greasy Ukie grifters are still gone a-begging for our billions, MONTHS after I first started posting this back on December 15, 2023:

Ukraine's losses:

$60bn of US funding for Ukraine

€50bn of EU funding for Ukraine

=========================

In a week, it'll be FOUR months since we first started laughing at the Ukrainian kiddie-killing leadership and their begging bowl. They ain't got their loot, so now it's time to kill the Ukrainian ninth-graders.
