It was just after 1:30 Tuesday morning when Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott (D) says he received the call from the city’s fire chief. “He said, ‘Sir, the Key Bridge collapsed,’’ said Scott, who was awake with a three-month-old child when the call came in. “I said, ‘Repeat that.’ He said, ‘The Key Bridge collapsed, a ship hit it, it’s gone, sir.’ ”
Scott, 39, said he threw on his official Baltimore city jacket and headed for the scene, calling the governor, the presidents of the state Senate and city council and the city administrator along the way. When he arrived at the shore of the Patapsco River to see the wreckage, “you could still hear it moving at that point,” he said of the the Dali, the 985-foot ship that had taken down the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
Just before daybreak, as Scott began appearing in national television interviews to speak of the “unthinkable tragedy,” the attacks started.

Is this the same black mayor that threatened white people for being white?
Silly me...I thought he was wearing a high school letter jacket for his press conference....now I know it was an official Baltimore city jacket!
It is very profitable if you are a race baiter. In fact, if racism ceased to exist, race baiters would have to find a real job. And think of all the affirmative action students and employees who would have to compete on a level playing field.
That’s what I’m wondering too.

The Mayor is worried he might have to do some work now
Oh, I get it. Promoting DEI is required, but identifying a politician who actively supports it is racist. Not too much different than celebrating homosexuality is required, but labeling someone a homosexual is taken as an insult; even homo-”phobic”.

F MSN. The incompetent fool got criticism because he is a worthless DEI idiot.
“Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott says white men should be scared of him because his purpose in life is to put their way of life at risk”
DEI = Didn’t Earn It
LOL….the official jacket!!
If ya din want the job, ya should not a took it!
Don’t know anything about the mayor but when I saw the governor, Wes Moore, speak with his numbered plan, I was impressed. I don’t know anything about Moore either.
Just get the freakin’ job done and STFU! That’s all people want of you. We don’t care if you’re chartreuse, earn your keep!
And criticizing him, when inappropriate, is missing the people that might be more involved, giving them cover by distraction.
Personally, I don't see how anyone beyond the shipping company have any culpibility in the matter. Sure sounds like the pilot and ship crew did good work, the port and bridge folks were incredibly responsible. I find criticism to be wrong at this point.
Now, the clean-up, recovery, reopening the port, and then rebuilding the bridge, those are worth scrutiny. Looks like the Army Corps of Engineers is in doing the clean-up, maybe a good start. Getting the new bridge designed, funded, contracted, and built, that'll be popcorn time if it is any like the experience with the Woodrow Wilson Bridge over the Potomac.
DEI => Didn’t Earn It
It’s not looking good for these people. I wonder if Mr. Mayor wasn’t screwing Ms. New Harbor Master? Seems to be a thing these days.
