A lifelong Republican voter who cast his ballot for Donald Trump in 2016 now views things quite differently, admitting to CNN on Wednesday night that Hillary Clinton was “absolutely right” about her opponent in that year’s election.
Texas Trey said on Laura Coates Live that his choice back then “wasn’t so much a vote in support of” Trump, but rather against the former secretary of state, who “didn’t have anything to offer that necessarily appealed to me.”
When asked if the events of the past eight years have made him rethink things, Trey responded affirmatively.
“Yes, absolutely,” he said. Clinton, he added, “was absolutely right about everything that she said. Although I didn‘t necessarily pay too much attention to the things that she said, going back, hindsight‘s very clear. Very clear.”
Trey explained that he won’t be supporting Trump this time around because doing so means jeopardizing the country’s institutions.

I can’t begin to count the number of times I’ve caught democrats in that “I’m a lifelong Republican” lie.
I am reminded of one example back when McCain was running for the Presidency against Obama in 2008. I was a member of a now long gone political message board.
I dont recall what the topic was about, but in a comment one woman said how she was a lifelong republican and solidly in the McCain camp up until the day McCain announced Sarah Palin as his running mate. It was then and there she switched over to the Obama camp, so she claimed.
I was a little bit suspicious about her claim. So, I looked up her posting history. Sure enough, many, many times she expressed her support for Obama and her intention to vote for Obama in comments that were dated long before McCain made his VP pick. Indeed, some were dated before McCain himself won the nomination.
In a reply to her comment, I posted my findings, complete with links back to several of her old Obama supporting comments. Being exposed for the liar she was, she didn’t reply. She didnt say anything. But she did put a block on me, which did nothing except prevented me from looking up her post history. I could still read and respond to her comments on the board.
No. You give me WAY too much credit. But thanks for the vote of confidence.
Sure thing!
Now go away and try again.
I like to mangle metaphors.

Our "lifelong FR Republican": Let me correct the above. I wrote myself in in 16 and 20. But all other votes were for R’s.

He's planning on writing himself in again in 2024, while trying to stay on FR to do as much damage to Trump as he can!!
If someone isn’t voting for Trump, then they are saying they want the Biden administration in charge for another four years-—and thus until it all falls apart and our nation is gone. It’s as simple as that.
Happy Easter.
