ROME — Pope Francis washed the feet of 12 women inmates at a Roman prison Thursday evening, the first time any pope included no men in the Holy Thursday ritual.
The Church’s practice of washing the feet of 12 people is intended as a commemoration of the moment at the Last Supper when Jesus washed the feet of the 12 apostles before commissioning them as priests to celebrate the Eucharist, according to Catholic belief.

Sigh, where to begin.
He is second-guessing Jesus Christ when he washed the Apostles’ feet - just as those advocating for female priests are second-guessing Jesus Christ (in both cases, maintaining that He chose men due to the culture of the time). As an omniscient being, He knew 2,000 years later it would be discussed - and still only chose men.

How was he chosen to be the pope? My guess is that the Cardinals who voted knew about him already and were sympathetic to his views. So the issue may be systemic in the official Roman Catholic church hierarchy.

He’s hated just like Christ was for helping sinners and prostitutes instead of preaching to the choir. Jesus faced the same hate as seen here.
Signaling his support for the ordination of women.
Some differences...Christ ALSO preached to convince those who would listen that He was the messiah, and he called for repentance of sins and for the forgiveness of sins to those true repentants. Plus the promise of eternal life in Heaven.
Have not seen this pope do that. He seems to be going through the motions of Christian virtue and acceptance of the God given value of life but neglecting the Christ’s resolution of the man/sin/death/separation from God, life defining issue.
Comparing Francis to Our Lord? I think I’m going to vomit.
Jesus had a purpose in washing the feet of the Apostles and it wasn’t for a photo op. Our Lord could have washed the feet of His Mother and the other female disciples but He didn’t, and it wasn’t because of sexism.
Francis cheapens Our Lord’s actions by turning these sacred ceremonies into publicity stunts that he knows will dazzle the media and other liberal elites.
The Pope, in fact every Pope has represented himself as Christs Representative on Earth. A pseudo Savior, I would say actually in the stead of Christ. Antichrist in Greek literally means Instead of Christ. Satan deceives the entire world.
