Four men Russia says were involved in the deadly shootings at a concert hall on the outskirts of Moscow Friday night appeared in court late on Sunday.
The men were charged with committing an act of terrorism when they appeared in the Basmanny district court, accused of carrying out an attack in the Crocus City Hall concert venue in which 137 concertgoers were killed and at least 140 were injured. The Islamic State group has said it was behind the attack.
The suspects, three of whom confirmed as Tajik nationals, appeared in the Basmanny district court late last night, looking disheveled and disoriented. One of the suspects was wheeled into court while another had a bandage removed from his eyes, revealing a black eye.
The suspects, identified as Saidakrami Murodali Rachabalizoda, Dalerdzhon Barotovich Mirzoyev, Shamsidin Fariduni and Muhammadsobir Fayzov, will be detained in custody until May 22, pending trial, the court said on Telegram. They may face life in prison if found guilty.
Moscow attackers ‘deserve no mercy,’ Russian prime minister says, amid debate over death penalty
Russia’s prime minister told officials Monday that those responsible for the Crocus City Hall terrorist attack on Friday deserved to be shown “no mercy.”
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin was addressing Communist Party lawmakers Monday, when he commented on the deadly shooting, which he described as a “monstrous terrorist act.”
“These events are now being investigated. Those responsible will be punished. They do not deserve mercy,” the prime minister said, according to news agency Interfax.
The Islamic State group said it was behind the attack on Friday, which left 137 people dead and 182 injured.
Four men suspected of carrying out the attack were charged with terrorism at a pre-trial hearing in a Moscow court on Sunday evening. Two of the suspects admitted their guilt in the attack, the court said on Telegram, according to a Google translation.
A debate is raging in Russia over whether a moratorium on the death penalty should be lifted, with several prominent lawmakers reportedly arguing for the reintroduction of the punishment for terrorism convictions.
Earlier, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the Kremlin was “not currently taking part in this discussion.”

They should be put in permanent extreme pain and kept alive as long as possible. Decades if possible.
The truth will come out in time. But who’s truth?
So I guess not.
And oh yeah, THIS:
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin was addressing Communist Party lawmakers Monday,
One thing is for certain. Rooskies do not mess around.. Guaranteed response will be at Biblical level of retaliation.
Nonsense, as usual.
But we were assured, ASSURED, around here that the terrorists were Ukrainian, confirmed by the FSB via TASS, Sputnik, and Russia Today!
******
They did jump the gun on that accusation in light of the ISIS confession; but the pro-Ukraine lobby was even worse to claim that Putin arranged the attacks.
Prove that Zelenskyy is being honest this time, because his record shows the propensity for him to lie without batting an eye.
There are no innocents here, just lots of victims.
Thats how you are supposed to handle prisoners. I remember back in the 50’s Detroit Cops didn’t have a problem with it, until the bleeding heart liberals showed up.
...and then there was the LAPD’s rogue unit of the SIS; commonly known to use off-duty and ‘contract services’ to get those answers and convictions unobtainable by other means.
Lastly before I need to go into work (so I can pay taxes)…
Mr. Rattler: This has been quite a busy weekend for you and about 8 to 10 other blue and yellow flag -waving war hawks on this forum making sure you’re among the top 5 every time a Russia and/or Ukraine thread is stared. With respect to the moderators, I won’t mention the other names; but safe to say that most of us who are forced to work and pay taxes to keep this machine going are really getting tired of the constant reminder(s) of how much said taxes we’re throwing down a rat hole for a Third World War for whatever reason.
So as not to insult you or your cohorts regarding the latest bloodlust, allow me to state facts, then a conclusion - on behalf of the rest of us:
FACT #1: EVERY national leader on the planet has condemned the attack and supports Russia’s right and duty to take steps necessary to bring those responsible to justice; that is – all except one.
FACT #2: That exception appears to be the only one blaming the Russians while hiding in a bunker, doing the worst video selfie I’ve ever seen… as if he’s very worried about something.
Which is why I CONCLUDE, he probably has good reason to worry, since those disposable terrorists weren’t properly disposed of. As they say in the world of spy craft, “everyone eventually talks”.
So, for the record, every time I see your ‘hero’ trolling the west for more toys to blow up things (such as the energy markets) and conduct other types of asymmetric warfare, I see barbarians storming the gates of our OWN border, and weigh priorities accordingly. Go ahead. Call me biased, But I live here, which is my primary concern.
… and if your boy had anything to do with what happened at that theater, then take a good look at those 4 oxygen thieves, because I suspect that’ll be just a taste of what’s coming his way.
Just my $0.02
jimjohn – OUT.
The following photo set was published by NEXTA - East European News
The text at that Twitter page:
The ISIS-affiliated channels have published a photo allegedly showing the attackers at Crocus City Hall.
The color and cut of the clothes of the men in the photo resemble the attire of the suspected organizers of the attack.
The New York Times previously reported that ISIS-Khorasan claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall. This group emerged in eastern Afghanistan in late 2014.
It's worth noting that the Islamic State has a history of claiming responsibility for attacks it did not orchestrate. We cannot confirm the authenticity of the photo.

Group That Claimed Responsibility for the Moscow Attack - New York Times, March 22, 2024
The group that claimed credit for the deadly terrorist attack in Moscow on Friday is the Islamic State affiliate in Afghanistan called Islamic State Khorasan Province, or ISIS-K.
ISIS-K was founded in 2015 by disaffected members of the Pakistani Taliban, who then embraced a more violent version of Islam. The group saw its ranks cut roughly in half, to about 1,500 to 2,000 fighters, by 2021 from a combination of American airstrikes and Afghan commando raids that killed many of its leaders.
ISIS-K carried out a suicide bombing at the international airport in Kabul in August 2021 that killed 13 U.S. troops and as many as 170 civilians.

Regarding the flight of the terrorists in their car towards Ukraine
Thanks for the reference. Just looked it up and ordered a book and dvd. Extreme Justice.
Must be like Detroit’s old “STRESS” (leftist rewriting of history says:
Stop The Robberies, Enjoy Safe Streets (STRESS) was a Detroit Police Department unit that operated from 1971 until 1974. STRESS was created to reduce crime in Detroit. It used decoy units, targeting African-American men.
I'll just add in that Victoria Nuland's speech about nasty little surprises in store for Russia, most assuredly didn't help the cause, as neither did the high ranking Ukrainian official's message to Russia stating in effect. Having a fun time in Russia are you? Perhaps there should be more fun times for you.
But then again, messaging has not been the strong suit on those arrayed against Russia, because all are blithering idiots to begin with.
Yeah right, themUkrainians attacked themselves to make Russia look culpable. How absurd your statement is.
