Companies are struggling to operate as Gen Z enters the workforce at higher rates, and a growing majority of employers say the younger generation is toxic for their business.
That's the latest from a new Freedom Economy Index report conducted by PublicSquare and RedBalloon this month. In the survey, 68 percent of small business owners said Gen Zers were the "least reliable" of all their employees. And 71 percent said these younger workers were the most likely to have a workplace mental health issue.
One of the surveyed employers spoke of Gen Z's "absolute delusion, complete lack of common sense, and zero critical reasoning or basic analytical skills."
The criticism for Gen Z workers was in full force, as less than 4 percent said Gen Z was the generation that most aligns with their workplace culture, and 62 percent said Gen Z was the most likely to create division and toxicity in the workplace.
Another employer noted the generation's tendency for "expecting promotions for simply showing up every day."
The toxicity could even lead to company lawsuits, as 57 percent said Gen Z run the most risk of creating a workplace lawsuit.
Dan Space, an HR consultant who runs DanFromHR.com, said since the study reflects the feelings of small business owners, it could be skewed. These types of businesses often do not pay well or offer a high-quality company culture, he said, and Gen Z tends to look for those in any type of role or career they take on, he said.
"Gen Z is one of the most informed, confident and no BS generation because they saw what happened to the millennials before them," Space told Newsweek.
"Being told to go to college to get a great job..."

SORRY-—ALL THE ‘YOUNGSTERS” I have met have been totally DAMAGED by “PARTICIPATION TROPHIES”.
They may never realize that a PAYCHECK is NOT a PARTICIPATION TROPHY.
What kinds of jobs did some of us BOOMERS have???
HOW ABOUT THIS: ???
I have a background in Accounting -— hired straight out of high school by Kroger & trained on a machine called a COMPTOMETER-—a pre-runner to computers. Calculating invoices all day long-—for $1.30 an hour==$52 a week.
Worked in other office settings.
BUT -—When I needed to:
I worked as a grocery cashier ON MY FEET ALL DAY
I worked selling auto & racing parts-—AM a female who always showed up on time & got ALOT of badgering from customers-—But other counter staff told them-—DON’T PISS HER OFF-—She knows what she is doing.
I actually worked selling auto parts 6 days a WEEK-—Went to night school 2 nights a week (GOT 4.0 in all my classes) to get more accounting knowledge-—and worked the other 3 nights a week in a machine shop-—porting & polishing chambers on CYLINDER heads for improved performance.
WANT TO GUESS HOW HEAVY A SET OF 350 CHEVY HEADS ARE?
HOW ABOUT A SINGLE 454 CHEVY HEAD?????
PLENTY !!!!!
I also owned my own home at that time & did all the household & lawn chores.
I have yet to meet a kid today I would trust to keep the water tank full for my horse.
SPARE ME THEIR COMPLAINTS ABOUT TOUGH THEY HAVE IT.
I would definitely discard the resume of anybody who would put those silly pronouns on their darn resume! Those employees will be nothing but trouble.
The fear of “climate change” is comic.
Never have so many people been so totally stupid as to be in a panic about something totally nonexistent and irrelevant to their lives.
At this point all you can do is point and laugh at the idiots.

But the task at hand is to BRING THEM ALONG.
Trump needs to have a "Come to Daddy" speech addressed to all the young who feel gypped. And we all need to support them and win them over from the Commie Rat side of things.
Think of it: Every person we flip from their side to ours is TWO votes: A positive vote for us and a negative vote for them.
There is no better way to turn our current nation mess into a resounding victory and build a HUGE reform movement for our country.
FReegards, c
I agree. The kids I have to work with in my hospitals ER are some of the stupidest kids I’ve ever seen.
They think the fact they even show up is reason for a raise or a promotion and they can’t handle the slightest criticism.
This lovely young woman breaks it down perfectly.
What do you assume about a person when you see pronouns on the resume? (Twitter)
“The Xers and (most) Millenials were tame compared to the Hippies. The Woksters (of every generation) may be better groomed than the Hippies, but they are a lot more toxic.”
A lot of the hippies got their minds right too. Hippies turning into Wall Street sharks was a thing in the’80s.
“The Xers and (most) Millenials were tame compared to the Hippies. The Woksters (of every generation) may be better groomed than the Hippies, but they are a lot more toxic.”
Most boomers did the right thing, went to work or reported for service when drafted. It was a loudmouthed minority that got all the attention. Hence t6he stereotype.
What in the world are you calling a hippie?
I think you don’t know what they were and confuse them with liberals getting degrees and political activists.
Yes. Maybe the land of opportunity -- but at what cost, and is opportunity actually the correct measuring stick? And, more importantly, is that opportunity that we built over a few hundred years on the decline -- like about every other civilization on the earth that has preceded us?
After all, we can put a man on the moon, split the atom, and find the Higgs Boson, but where have the advances come for the bulk of our American citizens in their happiness and interactions with one another? Hardly any. In fact, it seems to be in reverse. My grandkids, with all this abundance and opportunity, will likely not reach the pinnacle of achievement like most (not all) generations coming before them.
Our country, with all its abundance and so-called opportunity, ranks 15th in overall happiness for all countries. The top 10 have some opportunity, but nowhere close to ours -- and yet they are happier.
My view is we should see advancements in our society/culture as we've seen in other fields. We have squandered our inheritance.
Anyway, true bliss and happiness is in the Lord God above and eternal life with Him. That I know. But while I'm here, I'm not too sure.
“”””Most boomers did the right thing, went to work or reported for service when drafted.””””
The vast majority of the 10 million boomers who served were volunteers as were the men who fought in Vietnam, the under 30 Americans were also the strongest supporters of the Vietnam War.
They also are far less likely to be more religious, and more likely to support traditional morality, vote conservative, and less likely to grow up in one or two child (spoiled) families, be unmarried, have no children, and imagine that income should be via welfare, and that gender is fluid, and that they should be fearful of Climageddon, etc.
Less likely more likely less lixokely mere likely... I can't even tell what they're trying to say here...
Sorry, that was me, as a result of trying to restructure the sentence but being in a rush and not fully reading it before I hit post, after collecting and pasting and formatting research findings on this class (which is the main content). Meaning,
Gen Z is far less likely to be religious, support traditional morality, vote conservative, and more likely to grow up in one or two child (spoiled) families, be unmarried, have no children, and imagine that income should be via welfare, and that gender is fluid, and that they should be fearful of Climageddon, etc.
Again, sorry for the confusion.
flew OFF Wall Street buildings!
They did NOT rise to Wall Street power!
Ah mkay no problem. Some of those seemed to contradict each other so I wasn’t sure (originally) what was quite going on.
But it’s the marxist @$$holes of the Boomer, Gen X, and Millenial generations that made them that way.

That very much depends. Some companies have woken up, but a lot aren’t there yet and age discrimination is still an issue. Not to mention the added demands from racist DEI thinking.
