Uh-oh, Amazon. Looks like the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is not playing around when it comes to selling illegal signal jammers. The agency just went public with an investigation into Amazon and other major retailers for allegedly pushing these dodgy devices that can block your cell signal, GPS, and more.
Typically advertised as “drone deterrents” or “privacy tools”, these nefarious gadgets are specifically designed to block radio frequencies. This has serious ramifications, cutting off cellular devices and GPS units and impacting emergency communication channels.

Like so much technology today it can be good or it can be bad depending on who is using it and for what purpose.
Worst of all, they can prevent voting machines from wirelessly connecting to the Internet. You know, in case they need some last-minute, 2 am, software patches or something.

Turning off phones won’t keep them from broadcasting from your microphone, camera or gps ping from towers.

You can put your phone in an RF proof envelope or even RF shielded cloth bag. They make them and they are cheap.
No need to interfere with everyone else around you just because you are paranoid.
