Beverly Grove Place, a small outpost of Beverly Hills, is becoming a popular address for the rich and famous. Basketball superstar LeBron James is building a house there, and celebrity couple Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck bought a $61 million compound there last year.
Yet a bunch of squatters lived right down the street from James' new home at 1316 Beverly Grove Place from October 2023 to February 2024, reports New York Magazine.
According to the New York Magazine story, Morgan Gargiulo, an aspiring actor, created a fake lease, moved into a mansion and didn’t face any legal consequences for his actions.
Gargiulo threw wild parties five nights a week. He charged between $500 to $1,500 for entry to these dos with rave lights, a Warhol-style print, and a disco ball. He put out Moroccan-inspired poufs and rugs downstairs to give the appearance of a lounge.
Gargiulo was living there with his fiancée and girlfriend, as well as other friends. He even started renting out bedrooms for $150 to $300 a night. But people who booked the rooms showed up to find nothing available in the four-bedroom, six-bathroom mansion. At one point, Gargiulo even let people stay there in exchange for cleaning the house.
“Welcome to California,” one neighbor wrote in the group chat. “Thanks Liberals.”

Serves these godless cretins right.
Give them 24 hrs to evac.
Thereafter a team will come in and none will leave
Squatter horror stories are popping up across the country. It is a left wing plot to undermine property rights. Make an area unlivable due to high crime. Drive home owners out. Occupy empty houses. That’s how social justice works.
So it might turn out being a renter was the best option after all? I gotta say I’m going to be keeping an even closer eye on my house than usual.
Swatting squatters. Hilarity ensues.
In the case from NYC, when that property owner got arrested for changing the locks on her property, after the police left, local vigilantes showed up and kicked out the squatters.
It’s only a matter of time before someone snaps and a bunch of squatters end up dead.

Here in the Seattle area a landlord has been organizing protests at his rental home (5 BR) to bring attention to the deadbeat that is living there. The squatter paid the first and last rent up front, but has lived there for a long time (two years??) without paying rent.
The court said the squatter can stay there until summer.
The owner said he is out $80k in rent.
The landlord is Sikh, and the squatter is Chinese!
Yes. I saw a report on that on Fox. Let’s see if shame works.
I'd have just taken the SOBs to "The Train Station" No muss. No fuss.
Just saw a clip of an illegal say that squatting is the money-making reason he’s coming to USA.
How many other raggedy-ass, freeloading “refugees” get to live down the street from a billionaire basketball player? I love America!!! No wonder all those worthless thieving idiots demand asylum in America and only America.
Nobody owns anything in Biden’s America.
Entrepreneur?
This MESS can be fixed by a state law being passed. Laws for tenants are being used and that’s nuts.
If a burglar broke into a home and the cops came - could the criminals turn to the cops and say it’s his home and he lives there? No. Because there are laws on the books about breaking and entering. About who’s home it is. Our curresnt laws aren’t working for citizens they’re working for criminals.
OK, the solution is easy. Write new law. Laws need to be written to cover this insane gap in the law.
Do citizens have to hire lobbyists to get these people to write a law that protects us? Cops can’t arrest people based on how they ‘feel’. They have to have a law to base an arrest on. WRITE NEW LAWS TO DEAL WITH THIS INSANE SITUATION AND THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED.
Calling Brother Mossberg!
