Former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann appeared to "hope" that former President Trump would be assassinated in a recent X post that prompted calls for his banishment from the social media platform.
Olbermann was referring to the Biden-Harris HQ X account flagging a clip of Trump saying he had been persecuted worse than any president in history, including Abraham Lincoln.
"Trump says he has been treated worse than Abraham Lincoln, who was assassinated," the Biden campaign account posted on Saturday.
"There's always the hope," Olbermann wrote, linking to the post.

What if Mr. O and the left gets their wish and some nut case, or league of them, takes out Trump? What will the Left do? Smile, cheer, sing “Bing Bang the Witch is dead?” NO, they will shed crocodile tears and say how great he was, give him a fancy funeral and a grave at Arlington, and snicker “we got him at last!” Reminds me of how Reagan was treated. They think MAGA is just one man. Cut off the head of the snake and it dies! They are mistaken. We the soul of the Republic will remember all the hateful words, we will not forget the message of Trump, his dream of MAGA. The public will scorn people like Obermann, and all who spoke ill of Trump when he was alive. When Trump falls a hundred will step forward to replace him.
