The Washington Supreme Court issued two orders on Monday endorsing "alternative pathways" for individuals to pursue a legal career, effectively eliminating the requirement of passing the bar exam. Justifying its decision, the court claimed that the traditional bar exam “blocks marginalized groups from entering the practice of law” and even went so far as to accuse the bar exam of having “racism and classism written into the test itself.”
The Bar Licensure Task Force, chaired by Washington Supreme Court Justice Raquel Montoya-Lewis and Seattle University Law School Dean Anthony Varona, studied options to the traditional bar exam following a year of pandemic-related bar exam modifications.
The Task Force concluded in their analysis that the traditional bar exam “disproportionately and unnecessarily blocks marginalized groups from entering the practice of law, and the traditional bar exam is at best minimally effective for ensuring competent lawyers.”
As well, the task force's portion in the filing claimed, “In the 1960s, while the Civil Rights movement phased out formal racism, a ‘veiled or nonformal racism came in—racism under the guise of excellence, fairness, equal opportunity, all the things that make up the constellation of attitudes and standards we call merit.'" [sic] for the bar exam.
Justice Montoya-Lewis said in a statement of the case, “With these alternative pathways, we recognize that there are multiple ways to ensure a competent, licensed body of new attorneys who are so desperately needed around the state.”

For the details .... The ruling introduced three alternative pathways for legal licensing:
* Law students could achieve practice readiness upon fulfilling 12 qualifying skills credits and completing 500 hours of work as licensed legal interns.
* Meanwhile, law clerks, enrolled in non-law school programs, would undergo additional standardized educational materials and benchmarks under tutor guidance.
* These requirements align with those of law school graduate apprenticeships and necessitate 500 hours of licensed legal internship to qualify for bar exam waiver.
Washington State does not deserve the name Washington.

All tests are racist or will be deemed racist then because any test given to all races will show a racial disparity regardless of the topic.
And lest someone accuse me of being a racist, the fact is whites most likely wouldn’t be at the top of the list of those who perform highest on those tests!

Didn’t they rename King county after MLK instead of the man it was named for originally? Perhaps they could find a different ‘Washington’ more amenable to modern progressive tastes
My guess is that the bar association is trying to incorporate some kind of political litmus test for bar admission. It’s a direction it’s been moving in for a long time. White male conservatives, especially 2A supporters, will be excluded altogether. I expect the vetting process will be integrated into the internships in some manner.
Conclusion: Black people are not smart enough to pass a bar exam so we have to do away with the bar exam.
This fits perfectly with today’s corrupt judiciary whose judges ignore written law and apply their own version of “imaginary law” to suit their prejudices.
Without a reliable and predictable legal system, the USA will NOT survive. Nobody can have confidence in their rights or ownership of property when the law becomes nothing but a profound mystery.

Soon we will be having lawyers, doctors, pilots and more causing all sorts of havoc because they are incompetent to be practicing such a trade.
1. Poorly qualified persons will start practicing law. They may lose case after case. No matter. In time, they will start being appointed as judges.
2. After they are appointed as judges, they will make rulings based on feelings and philosophy, not the law. Lives will be ruined. No matter. In time, they will start being appointed as appellate court judges.
3. As appellate court judges, they will uphold dubious rulings by lower court judges. No matter. In time, they will be appointed as Washington State Supreme Court judges.
4. As Supreme Court Judges, they will continue to uphold dubious rulings. Statutory law says what they say it is. They will rule one way, depending on which minority is going to benefit, and rule another way if it benefits evil white people.
