Emmanuel Macron broke the taboo in February. NATO already assists Ukraine in virtually every possible aspect, from supplying weaponry and intelligence on Russian targets and the positions of enemy bombers to training thousands of Ukrainian troops in Europe. But until the French president suggested it, no one had dared to raise the question of Atlantic Alliance soldiers going into action to stop the Kremlin’s invasion. Macron not only opened a debate; his words also served to confirm that there are already military personnel from NATO countries on Ukrainian soil, albeit without taking an active role in combat operations.
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski told a conference in Warsaw on March 8 that there were already representatives of the Atlantic Alliance in Ukraine. “NATO soldiers are already present in Ukraine. And I would like to thank the ambassadors of those countries who have taken that risk. These countries know who they are, but I can’t disclose them. Contrary to other politicians, I will not list those countries,” Sikorski said. The last sentence was a veiled criticism of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

I would REALLY like to know just how much freedom our boys have to say “no” to these ‘informal’ deployments to Ukraine, and if they do have that freedom, then what the hell is wrong with them?

Does sound like Vietnam. First comes the special advisors. When that’s not enough then comes boots on the ground.
When Colonel Macgregor said that NATO had those forces in the Ukraine, the Ukrainian propagandists went nuts insisting he was fabricating etc. Macgregor said that NATO was the command structure and everyone else with boots on the ground in battle was Ukrainian.
Putin bombed a bunker at one point and some reported that was a deep bunker full of NATO advisors. At that time there was a hunt for anyone ‘missing’ from the NATO fold. For awhile, there were some people unaccounted for but I stopped watching to see if they ever turned up, or turned up with injuries.
But the US has soldiers there. First, there are the ‘volunteers’ who are allowed to ‘resign’ from the military, go to the war zone in the Ukraine, and when the return they rejoin. See? Technically not ACTIVELY US troops. I recall hearing about a US military medic who was killed in the fighting. There was a video clip of her when she first went to the Ukraine saying how she just wanted to do what’s right etc. She was a medic in an ambulance which was bombed.
There are also US troops required to operate complex equipment the US gives the Ukraine. And frankly, since Biden’s history of graft/moneylaundering/extortion there, along with his ‘biolab’ there, OF COURSE he would send troops, even black ops, and lie about it.

I’ve read that the high number of French soldiers coming home in body bags forced Macron to (all but) acknowledge his troops were in Ukraine.
