Statement by High Representative Josep Borrell on famine in Gaza “Hunger cannot be used as a weapon of war. What we are seeing is not a natural hazard but a manmade disaster, and it is our moral duty to stop it.“

Five months into the Gaza crisis, the results of the updated Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) assessment released today indicate the unfolding of the worst possible forecast for Gaza.

Gaza is already facing famine, with 100% of people estimated to be acutely food insecure, according to the IPC. In Gaza's Northern Governorates, 70% of the population are facing imminent famine.

In the centre and southern governorates, 50% of people face catastrophic food insecurity conditions. The situation is projected to deteriorate fast in the next weeks and months and famine is likely to also affect the South.

This is unprecedented. No IPC analysis has ever recorded such levels of food insecurity anywhere in the world.

Life-threatening levels of acute malnutrition have risen at an alarming rate since the last report, and we are already witnessing with horror the death of children due to starvation.

I’d favor sending food aid into Gaza, with a price of, say, one Hamas corpse per sack of flour. Otherwise I wouldn’t send them a moldy pinto bean.

If the Gazans were more concerned about their own children than they are about supporting anti-Israel terrorism, they would already have risen up and exterminated Hamas.

Or they added the words: be allowed to

Hunger cannot be allowed to be used as a weapon of war.

However, they also need to blame Hamas who is doing exactly that, using food as a weapon against their own people to keep them from joining the opposition, as I'm sue you know.

They always conveniently ignore that reality in their "assessments", and that should be the critique used to counter these "assessments" that always paints the Jewish people as the villains, ignoring the heinous acts that created the response in the first place.

Oh, also rapes, kidnappings, and baking babies in ovens can’t be used as weapons of war.

Propaganda Palestinians are doing the equivalent of killing your own parents then crying because you’re an orphan. You won’t get a single tear from me when you’ve actively and passively supported a terrorist regime. Islam is a global enemy to a normalized and civilized war and should be treated as such until it is brought to its knees.

Where is the Red Crescent? Aren’t they supposed to help in situations like this? Guess not.

“The organized International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is a humanitarian movement with approximately 16 million volunteers, members, and staff worldwide. It was founded to protect human life and health, to ensure respect for all human beings, and to prevent and alleviate human suffering.”

So much for their mission statement.

The notion of allowing the German people to starve in the coming winter was openly discussed in the summer of 1945.

Of course the Germans had surrendered by the summer of ‘45. I have no doubt that if Hamas surrenders now, the food for Gaza will arrive shortly.

A dirty diaper on a starving Palestinian infant is “bringing this upon herself”!

I wish the adults in this child's life would love their children as much as they hate Israel.

He gives it a 1 out of 10.

He can, with all sincerity on my part, go right ahead and shove that MRE (heater included) right straight up his thermal exhaust port.

There have been times when I was awfully damned glad to have MREs available.

My God, you support the mass starvation of children to accomplish Netanyahu’s goal. A goal, the complete destruction of Hamas, that can never be accomplished. You are graduating from the support of ethnic cleansing to the support of genocide.

Free the women (who to Islam are mere property anyway), feed and educate the children, AFTER all the adult male Muslims are DEAD. All children are worth saving, unless they are being trained as the next generation of terrorists.

In theory yes but when Germany the sight of those concentrations camps was a factor in hostility and anger in the US that had to channel itself out.

The Left in the US under Soviet-Stalin influence drove an argument to harshly punish the Germans.

Yes, but wasn’t at least some of that anger because Germany had attacked the USSR in the first place?

The Reds here were 100% against US involvement in the war until June 22, 1941 when their attitude shifted 180º.
