Nearly two years ago, Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) asked for private donations to bus immigrants to sanctuary cities. Despite fundraising efforts to offset the costs of the program, Abbott’s initiative has only managed to gather less than half of 1% of the approximately $150 million required today.
A new CNN analysis of Texas‘s records found that, at most, approximately $550,000 has been raised as of Friday.
After a review of state records, CNN discovered that many donations submitted online, by mail via check, credit card, or bank transfer, do match the funds received by the state. This could be because the donations were rejected by banks or credit card companies.
Records showed the largest donation made to Abbott’s program was $900,000, but the check bounced, CNN could not reach the woman whose name was recorded, and the official phone number submitted to the state was disconnected.
Abbott’s office published the $900,000 contribution online in September, bringing the program’s donation total to more than $1.3 million. However, in December, the count was recalibrated, dropping down to $460,000.
Abbott announced his charter bus plan in response to President Joe Biden lifting Title 42, shortly after asking Texans to make personal donations to the program.
“Securing the border does not come cheap. Securing the border would cost Texas nothing if the federal government was doing its job. But because Joe Biden is not securing the border, the state of Texas is having to step up and spend taxpayer money doing the federal government’s job,” Abbott said in April 2022.

While I appreciate what Abbott has done to bring attention to this is issue, we see now that the dems want those illegals in their state for purposes of the census and Biden is throwing hundreds of millions of dollars to them to help build housing and feed these illegal invaders. That said, why continue to bus them? Let’s build the wall instead.
Donations hell. This is the job of the state. The state pays for every sicko thing under the sun. Time to step up and do the PRIMARY job of the state which is protecting it’s citizens.

Bus fare is cheaper than having them stay in Texas. Even better, force them right back across the border.

As per the article- lets compare the cost of bussing them to blue states versus the cost of keeping them in the state of Texas

Much better yet, shoot them when they cross the border. Bullets would be cheaper than bus fare. I would donate funds for the ammo used to shoot them at the border.
Bus them on trolleys if we ha e to. When they get to blue state have them use the free debit card to pay for the fare
bet you could stop the innovation with 100 round box and have shells leftover.

When I lived in Guantanamo Bay, we had what was then the world’s largest landmine field between us and communist Cuba. It worked great. There was one road, Sherman Avenue, that went through the middle of the mine fields. It was guarded by heavy artillery and machine gun posts.
Doesn’t matter the money is very well spent. NYC and Chicago can now house them, feed them and spend their state resources on the welfare and crime they bring.

Yep, and now we have countless Haitians all of a sudden to hit the Florida coastline any minute, one would be wise to consider that Xiden sent all kinds of cash to the gangs in Haiti to push as many bodies in these boats, the Coast Guard will bring them ashore to be processed.
