Oh, I get that angle. Everyone wants to save the world; in the same manner, gun controllers want to “save lives”, too.
Both of them share a borderline fanatical devotion to their cause of “saving lives.” That’s ok…everyone has to have a hobby. The global warming crowd is also in this bucket.
Many people try to “save lives” through education, PSAs, propaganda/entertainment, authority bias, and other levels of influence. That’s fine: the marketplace of ideas can flourish.
The pro-vaccine lot has one lever the gun controllers and global warming people lack: the law. Broadly, children can’t attend school without getting scores of injections.
The gun controllers would LOVE to have a similar coercive power of the govt in their corner. Same with the anti-cardio dioxide people….if the govt required children to be driven to school in EVs by disarmed parents, they’d be giddy.
That coercive power - “no public school for you unless you’re jabbed” - is being eroded by parents who are reconsidering the efficacy of this injection regimen. Now, getting Johnny a polio vaccine is one thing…a battery of HPV shots seems too much, and a Covid shot for kidz is certainly a head-scratcher.
This is how the marketplace of ideas works. Parents are inundated with facts, lies, figures, data, bad data, junk science, and “experts.” They know their kids better than anyone, and if they don’t they are STILL the parents. The buck stops with parents and lets it let perfect be the enemy of good.
The crack in that “we just want to save lives” shield came from the trans movement. That crowd applauds keeping pronouns from parents etc., all in the name of “health” and “saving lives,” ie Pat won’t commit suicide if we perform reassignment surgery.
That is, when they lose in the marketplace of ideas, they demand Leviathan takes the football out of the parents’ hands and gives it to THEM.
THAT is why we get this shrill article using kids as a human shield. It may SEEM like the physicians et al want to “save lives.” Their actions however, akin to gun controllers and global warming hysterics, give away their TRUE want: control.
