House Oversight Committee chairman Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) said Wednesday that he may refer members of the January 6 Committee to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution for hiding and destroying documents.
Loudermilk has been investigating the work of the January 6 Committee, and discovered last year that the Committee had destroyed documents and other records, despite being warned by then-incoming Speaker of the House Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to preserve all of the evidence it had collected in months of investigations and closed-door testimony.
He told John Solomon of JusttheNews.com that it was possible members of the committee could face prosecution:

There is room for 5 more ropes on that scaffold. It would be a shame to not use that space. Economy of scale, you know.
Every one has been charges with something or other. The number who have been refused bail is elusive.
Lez Cheney should be on the rack
That's the thing about the House and Senate rules.
The Constitutions gives each chamber the power to make their own rules. However, breaking those rules are not prosecutorial crimes.
I fear that the only recourse within Congress is to refer the members of the J6 Committee to their respective Ethics Committee, and then for those committees to recommend expulsion. Censure will mean nothing.
We know that no chamber will expel a Democrat member when the margin of power is razor-thin. Expulsion is only for Republicans these days.

“No reasonable Prosecutor blah blah blah and double blah.”
My dream scenario: Adam Schiff loses his election to Garvey (not happening, but a feller can dream), is hauled before the committee as a private citizen, grilled for a few weeks in Gitmo, then hauled up there with his skinny neck in a noose. Last words: "This is all Trump's fault!" You could do pay per view...
six lines, no waiting...
You could do pay per view...
i’d pay
If the whole scenario was in reverse, Republican committee-members would already be serving their second of many years in the Dry Tortugas.

In our political system only one side fights, so guess who wins all the time.
Those with the greatest will to win usually do.
The losers (GOP) are left with nothing but whining and excuses.
LOL. I’m sure Merrick Garland will get right on that. Woke congress critters will not get prosecuted by this DOJ. In fact, you don’t have to be woke. Just join arms with the woke to advance progressive critical Marxism. And you are immune.
By “Hot Seat” I hope you mean the electric chair.
Put the DOJ on notice that there’s an obstruction charge waiting for them under several processes in all 3 branches.
The key words is “during”.

Still, it's likely that the person who did the deleting were staffers, not a member, so the immunity does not apply to them.
