Millions of Americans' Work Hours Would Change Under New Plan
Newsweek via msn ^ | Mar. 13, 2024 | Andrew Stanton

Senator Bernie Sanders is introducing legislation that would change working hours for millions of Americans.

Sanders, an independent senator representing Vermont, announced he plans to file a bill that would establish the 32-hour workweek as standard across the United States, while mandating that workers do not lose pay. In a press release on Wednesday, Sanders argued fewer working hours would be necessary to ensure recent technological advances, such as automation and artificial intelligence "benefit the working class, not just corporate CEOs and wealthy stockholders on Wall Street."

When you don’t work, what do you do with your time?

YOU SPEND MONEY

That is why a $6 per our job is worth it. You don’t have time to spend $12 per hour so your NET earnings is $18

[(Bernie Sanders) hasn’t done an honest
day’s work his entire miserable life]

That’s absolutely correct

**************

That may well be true. But on the other
hand he did it his way and had a good
life with plenty of benefits.

“hardworking illegal aliens.” <-— few of whom as individuals sustain hard work for very long. That’s why the traitors who support them require so many.

So would a 4-day school week mean year-round school with no extended time off? After all, most systems require 180 days of school. Spread that over 45 weeks instead of 36 and that makes the summer much shorter.

Congress should go back to part time and cut their salary and benefits.

Actually increases it 25%. Hours are 4/5 of the previous, pay rate is effectively 5/4 of the previous.

Yes, but why stop at 32 hours, after all every Democrat knows businesses have unlimited funds and are greedy and evil, so how about 24 hours or better still pay them for zero hours? In fact businesses could quadruple their staffs and payroll and get nothing in return. This sounds like a leftist paradise. Or something that demented old Bernie and that execrable piece of post processed food Fauxcahantas Warren suggested add a tax on the businesses (and personal) assets too. Again the Democrat mantra of taxing the country into prosperity would drive the egalitarian state. Except some would be a lot more equal than others.

The problem is that the idiots WANT to believe. When someone tells you you’re poor because you make endless series of poor life choices you don’t want to hear it, but when someone tells you you’re poor because those greedy businesses keep all the the fruits of your labors for themselves yeah man that sounds good to Democrat voters and other worthless individuals.

Yes, but why stop at 32 hours ...

As with minimum wage increases, they stick with what they think they can get for now.

You will notice no labor unions are pushing this, though they were in the forefront of the 40 day week long ago.

***Vermont voter insanity.***

Well, 100 years ago H.P. Lovecraft considered Vermont to be the equivalent of a hillbilly backwoods New England state.
