A woman — whom Hazelwood, Missouri, police described as “here illegally from Venezuela” — is now charged with killing 12-year-old Travis Wolfe in a crash that left him and his parents fighting for their lives. Wolfe died on March 6.
Endrina Bracho of Venezuela was charged in March with one count of first-degree involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of child endangerment, and one count of driving without a license after allegedly causing a crash that left Wolfe dead and his parents, Timothy and Stephanie Wolfe, seriously injured.
According to court records that FOX 2 Now reviewed, Bracho “is here illegally from Venezuela” and was driving in the wrong lane on December 20, 2023, in St. Louis County with her two children in the vehicle when she allegedly caused a head-on collision with the Wolfe family.

I visited Colombia many years ago.
The driving was horrific, so if that is someone representative of how they drive in other South American countries, expect to see a LOT more of this kind of thing here in the near future.
The interesting thing then was (and I don’t know if this has changed) was that if you killed someone in an auto accident, you went to jail for life for murder. And their jails are not as nice as ours. It made for a lot of hit and run accidents.
And my guess is it probably contributed to a huge underground auto repair business where for enough money, no questions were asked and they never saw you. But that is only speculation.

Then, in Mexico, back in the day at least, there was the belief that it was safer to drive at night with the lights off, idea being that headlights ruined your night vision.
I did see a fatal accident in rural Mexico. A mob pulled the driver from his car and stabbed him to death.
There were two kids in the car.
