Can Biden Buy the Voters?
Jewish World Review ^ | March 12, 2024 | Dan McCarthy

Posted on 03/12/2024 12:11:18 PM PDT by lasereye

Joe Biden's weaknesses are obvious, but the State of the Union last Thursday and the president's $7.3 trillion budget proposal this week are reminders of just how tough he can be.

Biden isn't simply an old politician, he's an old-fashioned one — the kind who believes in buying the vote.

He tried it in the 2022 midterms with a student-loan forgiveness push that had little chance of surviving the courts.

Donald Trump gets called a "transactional" politician, yet Biden is an absolute master of the traditional pork-barrel method of courting constituencies.

He learned something in his 36 years in the Senate, not least about the techniques that made Democrats the dominant party in Congress for decades after the New Deal.

When they ruled the House of Representatives for all but four years between 1931 to 1994 — and controlled the Senate for all but 10 — Democrats sold themselves as a party of government services, entitlements and payouts.

Today not even a Democrat as cunning as Biden can afford to defy identity politics.

He can downplay it, however — and Biden has lately made an appeal to economic identity, as well as specific interests, a vital component of his reelection rhetoric.

Biden boasted of bringing back manufacturing jobs that pay six-figure salaries to workers without college degrees.

Manufacturing states like Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan made Donald Trump president in 2016 — and snatching them away from Trump won Biden the White House.

However unsteady on his feet Biden may seem day by day, he's as focused as he's ever been in his life when it comes to identifying the voters who will decide the 2024 election.

Biden might not reverse the exodus of Americans without degrees into the ranks of the GOP, but he hopes to blunt the Republicans' advantage.

I think Biden's got a good shot at it.

In addition to trying to buy votes, Biden will try to create the impression that the economy's doing really well. He did that in the SOTU. I posted months ago where I said that claiming the economy's good would be one of the key big lies by/for Biden. I also said it wasn't clear to me that Trump knew how to formulate a strategy to destroy that lie or any of Biden's other lies. Trump's idea of strategy is holding lots of rallies and messages on Truth Social as far as I can tell. Somebody actually tried to argue with me that there is no possible strategy to deal with Biden's lies and holding rallies is all he can do.

Trump might take it for granted that everyone knows the economy is bad and won't see a need to put together a very detailed response, which would be remarkably incompetent. If he does that he would be repeating one of Romney's key mistakes in 2012. He thought most voters were dissatisfied enough with Obama's performance that he could win by just presenting himself as a competent alternative. He didn't try to drive home that the economy wasn't good. Nor did he ever at any point mention any of the problems with Obamacare. Obama and the media got people feeling better about the economy and people forgot about Obamacare. It would be ironic if Trump lost by repeating Romney's mistakes, since he and Romney are seen as representing polar opposites in campaign styles.

I am not sure how the author can get the taste of Biden out of his mouth, but despite this screed, the Bidens aren’t that bright. With what the Democrats worked so hard to contrive in Ukraine, the best the Biden crime family could come up with was to get Hunter on the board of Burisma.

Biden is a two-bit hood who is in government because he was too stupid to make it in a union.

Let me see...81 million votes at a generous $10,000 per vote, that’s less than a trillion dollars! I’m sure that can be squeezed into the annual budget.

Some of us with more than one university degree never were in the dem party. And, let's face it, there is something wrong with today's "higher education."

No. For Biden to win again you would have to create the national and global chaos of 2020 again. Not going to happen. They truly believed President Trump would retreat. Instead, as we knew he would be, he was emboldened.

Now the Deep State, if they were to continue the puppet-state installment, faces a 'Kamala-inherits-the-throne' scenario before the mid-terms, because Biden will have a 25A moment within the next 2 years, hopefully this year.

Kamala as puppette would swing the House wildly to the GOP, and ensure zero chance of Amnesty before 2030, at the earliest.

The Deep State must. have. Amnesty. and must have. it. soon. They financed massive multi-family construction over the past 2 1/2 years while simultaneously stepping on the throat of single-home construction. Either they fill those or collapse both the Commercial and Residential real estate markets.

They want to permanently muttlerize metropolitan areas over 500,000 so they will never vote red again. Control of the cities Soros-style eventually leads to control of the states, control of the states eventually leads to a permanent Democrat trifecta.

So, the Deep State is going to gamble on TrumpII, make Youngkin VP, maybe a thin House and Senate majority for the first 2 years, and play upon his legacy needs. Not a Gang of Eight-style bill but a 'bipartisan' slippery-slope bill that they figure Youngkin or Gruesome will transform into full-fledged citizenship at the turn of the decade.

That part of the puzzle will play out entirely differently, of course, but I tell you right now President Trump will be re-elected in November. I've lived long enough to see how this sick game works, and this is how it is going to work. My hope is that Trump gets back and pulls out a scimitar and never looks back.

Once he promises millions in reparation to each one of the slo folks, he’ll be working on a triple landslide.

He doesn’t have to buy their votes, just make proposals to put cash in their pockets that the mean, old Republicans will block.

Then, of course, FJB can blame those same mean, old Republicans for not letting him put cash in their pockets - with the help of the MSM, of course . . .

Of course the Marxist Dems can buy illegals votes as they are doing it NationWide. Buck is leaving the Congress and was probably paid a ton of cash to leave his rino position to destroy the Republicans razor thin margin of control.

IF Trump wins, which I think is unlikely, a Dem controlled House will impeach him the instant he is sworn in.

They will be bought for him by the “machine” if the “machine “ lets him run. If not they will just buy them for the other guy.

Elect will not fix what is broken. Only a true insurrection will do that. Not that I condone one /s.

Plus this pos hinted 3 more were think of leaving on the Republican side. Then Jeffries would pick up the gavel prior to the election, close all investigations into the Biden crime family and now president over swearing in new President.

Bongino talked to this. Call it a conspiracy theory if you like but sounds right down the alley for Trump haters.
