American military personnel may have been killed in a Russian strike on a United States-supplied Patriot air defense system supplied to Ukraine, according to a Moscow-aligned lawmaker in comments reported by Kremlin-backed media.
When asked for a response to the claims, a spokesperson for the Pentagon told Newsweek, "I can confirm no U.S. injuries because we have no US service members in the fight."

But we do have service members operating the Patriot missiles batteries, (that cost one billion each).
And he can’t confirm because he hasn’t been informed. Never will be. He can deny until the cows come home and he, himself, will be telling the truth.

Third Option contractors
We have some veterans with PTSD who’ll love to go to Ukraine. They’ll work as “contractors” for Blackwater (I know they have a new name now). And we’ll give them fake passports. Some Canadian, Irish and South African. They’ll be mercenaries fighting for Ukraine. The Russians will get annoyed but they can’t do anything because we’ll have plausible deniability.
The Russians have a hard time fathoming that the Ukrainians for whom they have so much contempt have been able to fight then to a stalemate, despite having 1/4 the population and being starved of weaponry.

The question isn’t so much regarding why Americans are at the Front Line WITHOUT Americans being told such, as that question is answered easily with two words: “Victoria Nuland”.
The REAL QUESTION is why are the Neocons assigning Newsweek the task of providing this information to the American public? At this point we can only speculate, and thus I think the reason is to soften up the American public for the large number of body bags that will soon be arriving back in the US, but other theories are also welcome.
