After graduating from college in 1965, Robert Ferguson enlisted in the United States Marine Corps to escape the draft. Ferguson completed Officers Candidate School, but was rejected from flight training due to poor depth perception. Instead, he trained as a radar operator and deployed to Vietnam in 1966, completed seventy combat missions in seven months. He was then reassigned as a Forward Air Controller (FAC) to coordinate air support in the field. In 1967, Ferguson was severely burned when an armored vehicle detonated an explosive device. He was evacuated and spent the remainder of his military career recovering in various hospitals in Japan and the United States.
Today is the day I take my 2006 Ford Ranger to the Ford place for the 120,000 mile service. We'll see what happens.
Yesterday at Comanche Lake:
How's everyone doing this morning?
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Looks like another fun day at Comanche Lake.
Someone needs to haul off that poor bird. :-)
We'll see how things go today with the 120K. That's an awful lot of miles we put into that pickup and it still drives well today. 18 years since we've had this beauty.
If you maintain them properly, and you seem to, vehicles can go a looooooong way. Both of my cars are closing in on 200K - - one’s a ‘94 and the other’s a ‘96. My brother had a truck that he put 500K on, then decided to get a new truck. He gave the old one to his son and he still drives it, though not all the time.
You should have yours a long time.
Worked for Intel at F1 in Mountain View. U2 take offs from Moffat were fun.
Loud roar and climbout at 45deg.

Comments below the video:
“1971... I was a scared radio operator in a VERY bad place.. talked to a Phantom pilot... the spotter put WP on the enemy where they were dug in on the side of a cliff. The F-4 pilot reassured me... swooped out of the sky and put an iron bomb DEAD ON the bad guys. We walked out untouched. Bless him.”
“Randy Cunningham! I loaded his missles May 10, 1972 and he got three Migs that day and became the first Navy Ace! “
I lived in Grass Valley, Calif from May 1993 to Dec 2004.
I had horses I used for long distance events-—50 miles & up.
I rode at Spenceville Wildlife Area with other riders for all of those years.
The west boundary of Spenceville was no more than a 3-4 strand barbed wire fence then. Cattle were often grazed there in the spring.
Could watch AF planes do “touch & go” practice from the northern side of Spenceville, which had higher altitude.
