...A large number of young hatchery-raised salmon that were released into the Klamath River recently were killed when they passed through a tunnel near the base of the Iron Gate Dam on the river...
(Excerpt) Read more at redding.com ...
there has been a stink of dead fish all day here in anderson 148 miles away from the klamath river.
apparently there are so many dead fish in the river you can smell the overpowering stink all the way to anderson california 7 miles south of Redding ca.
the stink is overwhelming from 148 miles away.
spit.
We had to kill the salmon to save them.
What bothers me most about this fiasco is all of the money wasted to totally remove the dams. Apparently American cultures is so evil, that we cannot even leave a record of our presence on the ground like the Romans did. An old, breached dam harms nothing and creates a majestic ruin that people like to look at. The actual removal of the entire dam is just fools with our money looking for a problem.
and a demo outfit that knows somebody that knows somebody. trading an old dam for a shiny new feeding trough of cash. should have filled the money trough with the dead fish.
Is it this or from the toxic sludge from the other Klamath dam removal? Juvenile Salmon are very small.
dont know, the sludge killed all the fish , turned the water black.
i posted a pic the other day.
the wind finally shifted, thank God,
so the stink is gone now.
but between the hatchery fry and the rest of the river its got to be tons of dead fish for the stink to travel that far and smell that bad.
uvenile Salmon are very small.
\/
doesnt matter how small they are,, how many tons of them is what matters.
Yeah, same goes for the toxic poisoning by the damn removal!!!
Which is the cause of the problem?
[We had to kill the salmon to save them.]
NOT NECESSARILY...
